The Fowl's Word

The papers begin to circulate about Lower Sanctuary

//Two hard to make out, for your convenience!

Beggars dead, corpses stolen The tradegy began not but a tenday ago, when Uppers descended down the stairs, murderous intent in their eyes. They killed men, women and children where they stood, and fled with the bodies to perform nefarious experiments on their victims. Bernard Wellington, an Upper informer told the Fowl when Upper needs corpses, they just pop down to Lower and take them because "Nobody'll miss 'em". There are many theories on why Upper decided to murder and steal the bodies of good, hardworking men and women. Elena Harris offers a compelling, and terrifying theory that is widely accepted. "They stole them bodies and made them into zombies to work out ways to kill the living dead so they could defeat the giant lord of giant ants!" a distraught Elena told the Fowl, tears dripping down her face. By all accounts, this horrible act of Upper worked, as they recently defeated the undead giant as it strolled about half naked (Missing the clothes Upper stole from it). Others believe it to be the work of the insidious and secretive Spellguard Order to help their research on the head, working in conjunction with mind flayers. Both may be the case.
Heroes of Lower Unite to Stamp Ants It began as a quiet and peaceful night, as Lower folk did their daily struggle to keep alive, that is until the cursed giant bugs of doom came up from below and began to attack unarmed men and women, the ground itself shaking and trembling under their advance. Few people died that day, due to the heroic actions of the Dirty Nancies, Lower adventurers and the Cave Worm Clan, who routed the ants back to the Low Way where the mighty Gaeseric the Unyielding, and the courageous Crocodile did battle against the commander giant ant while others fled back at the onslaught. It is believed the ants attacked Lower because Upper stole their leader's clothing, namely boots and a codpiece, all of Sanctuary being blamed. The leader was a twenty foot tall undead fire giant, and clothing that fits and does not burn must be a rare thing indeed for a flaming, giant, mummified hulk, which was outraged at Upper's gall. Lower lives were once again lost due to Upper's greed, and its contempt for all of us who dwell below. Why Upper wanted the clothes of an undead fire giant is a mystery for the ages.
