We could really, really do with some sort of healing device or cheap/free resting area for healing between fights.
i understand its hard to design something such as this that wouldnt get abused.
but if anyone has any smart ideas, it would be real helpful if you could mention it.
thanks.

I think something like this is basically in the hands of the PC's running the school of war to make happen IG, but I may be wrong!
Like adding a little warriors rest area off to the side(by spending the funds on expanding the area), or maintaining a purple crystal like we once had in Upper.

Clerics have healing spells and there are low damage weapons available -- I don't think brawling needs to be any cheaper than it already is. The arena is not some kind of freebie OOC area where you can fight each other safe of death and without penalties or losses; it is just an area, like any other, that just happens to be well suited for swinging swords and axes. That said, it can definitely be worked towards in game, but please don't get the idea that a purple crystal was added to upper sanctuary because we felt a source of free healing was needed. That won't happen in the arena, either, from just an OOC suggestion.

During well-organized events such as large tournaments, and provided a DM is online, we may spawn a bedroll which anyone can rest on for free.

right.
thats cool if a dm can help during the orginised and bigger tournaments
but as to getting healing for other smaller events i guess i should go ahead and take vlaids advice
prehaps a merchant in the arena that sells herbs would be helpful, to save the trip back to the market - or i should make sure to get a healer to each event

The problem with a healer in the arena means you can no longer fight there w/o a DM. I love that there are no NPCs immediately available, allowing everyone to fight to their heart's content.

I don't know if it's intentional that there are no NPC's watching the arena. Used to be a few watching for just that reason...so you can't just use the arena as a safe place to FD someone and rob them inside town.

What about it? I haven't FD'ed anyone in a long time, don't look at me like that! <_<

For the love of Cyric what does "FD" stand for. I see this everywhere and simply can't piece it together!

FD = full damage mode. It means you kill them. Kill kill, like "haha, you have no head now" kill. After a FD the *Only* ways you can come back to life is by DM intervention, Clerical raising, or Necromantic animation.
