"A whitened scroll written in rothe blood ink is left at the watchhouse by a man clad in a weird greenish light armor. The writing is unmistakedly that of a scholar".
Greeting fair Watchmen,
I have been attacked in full view of the Watch and a crowd. The attacker calls himself Troglodyte. The Watch's intervention has saved my life, and i do offer my thanks. My trade is that of potions and wands to help the town's defenders. I would gladly offer a 5% additionnal discount on all my wares to all the watchmembers if i was certain justice was enforced.
However, the man was arrested, and released on his word - and only his word - that he had attacked me by mistake. Never did he heed the Watch's call to stop his attack, and he forced his way through the Watchman defending me.
Why the Watch believes the man, i do not know.
Why the watch believes that a lone man, not even a law enforcer, has any cause, right or reason to try to kill a peacefull citizen of Sanctuary without authority, i do not know.
If killing a man then pleading a mistake is excusable, the precedent you have installed might work against security in Sanctuary.
However, i also bring new evidence that i was not targeted by mistake. The very honorable Councilor Haldor is willing to certify the man threatened to kill me before.
In the light of this new evidence, i do hope justice will be enforced, in memory of all the Watchmen who fell in the line of duty against similar raving madmen. I look forward to seeing a legal bounty set on this man's head.
