Shape Shifter

If you subdue/kill a Shape-shifted PC (Let's say a Druid. Or a Werecat) in shape-form, is it just OOC Mechanics that make him shift back to humanoid form, or, for the convenience of the moment, are you OK to assume seeing the creature on the floor as when it was alive and kicking?

I just tested this in game. If you are subdued in hybrid form, unless you type in the command that allows you to shape-shift, you remain in hybrid form. I'm going to just assume this works the same way with druids.
