Large faction hatred

How every time a faction becomes large people start to try and take it down?

Can you clarify this post? Conflict, especially between factions, is one of the things that keeps EFU interesting.

Kossuth, lol

Edit: To answer your question, once a faction gathers members, it starts to get prolific, and is bound to upset some group or faction. That is why, often, the more caustic groups don't last very long, unless you make plenty powerful friends, too! The Banites were a really good example, actually.

This question makes me sad.

If you're talking about the Druids of Fury, you guys really reaped what you had sown.

How every time a faction becomes large people start to try and take it down?

1. Because it is no fun taking down a faction no one knows about?

2. Because it is no fun taking down a faction with only one or two members?

I personally have never been involved in "taking down a faction", but if I was going to, those would be my reasons ;)

I think core really answered this one adequately.

Oh, Sassy Cassey. What can't you solve.

Essentially, How much fun would it be to see the watch house in a mushroom cloud? Explained. :P

Sassy Cassey, EFU Oracle and Sage

I smell a forum title change.

Also, conflict really is what makes EFU great. Try playing here, then giving a low-conflict, non-perma death world a shot. I have, and it isn't much of a comparison for me.

The amazing factions we've had in the past - House Toboerski and Archibald, the Sewer Ghauns, the False Flame, the Banites, etc. - were all great because they overcame so much adversity. How much fun would it be if anyone's faction could be epic? So long as you had numbers, you could rock out the server and go down in EFU history. The great factions are amazing for a reason - they were able to take down their enemies and stay standing.

You're bound to step on someone's toes, and when you're able to go head to head with that faction and prevail, then you'll be a true badass, Thomas the Younger.

What I think Thomas is trying to say is there seems to be this strange phenomenon when it comes to player factions. These factions are hard to build, and as soon as you start making yourself known almost instantly people (who logically should either be considered allies or neutral) turn against you. I think Thomas feelings are based on what happened last night with Kossuth vs Team Good.

However, when it comes to DM factions most of the same players are "meh" and have a tendency to treat them completely differently.

There seems to be a lot less willingness to fight against DM Factions than PC Factions, which are insanely hard to build, maintain and manage. So there is some frustration, I think on the part of those who attempt to build something great, to begin to see success, only to see people rally against them in an almost irrational way.
