Make campfire last longer

Truly. I just remembered that I tried it once, I wrote an emote and sit down, then it almost vanished immediatly. I know that I'm not too fast writer, but still. That fire lasts a very short time.

It lasts a random amount of time, so you probably just got a bad roll. Regardless, I'll look into making it last a bit longer.

It definitely is too short. Ideally you should be able to put it out.

Yes, if you do not rest within a few seconds of the person that lit it, then you are out of luck. Even the longest time I have seen has not been long enough for a party of three or four.

It should probably last between 12 and 24 hours, with the option of putting it out through a dialogue or bash.

Personally Id like them to last for ages. Its just a fun RP prop. Either singing songs around it (er.... maybe not on this server) or lighting a few, and then putting your backs to them for the last stand against the horrors of the encroaching darkness (much better).

I think benefit balance wise from the X+ (y * competence level) from what i've seen.

Where y is a value a good deal less than X, it allows a usable minimum but then may vary beyond that,

For fires.. the competence level above could very well just be a randomly rolled thing or it could be some simple formulae based on stats and/or skills. (dexterity comes to mind, with bonuses for rangers/druids/barbarians (anyone that might have wilderness survival skills) )

All I can really say is that a fire lasts as long as you feed it. Creating an option to just douse it (or if nothing else works, make it bashable with low hp) would really be the best.

Feeding fires isn't so simple in the underdark. Fire is bad down here.

Thrawn Feeding fires isn't so simple in the underdark. Fire is bad down here.
Indeed it is. But if anyone is foolish enough to sit around a bright campfire right next to Orpor the Killer of Soft-Things' lair, that's their problem. And the cunning DM looking down at them. :)

The question is, really, how fiddly you want to make the whole process.

Campfires should now last longer.
