Letter for the Office of the Herald [DM]

[This letter is hand delivered to the Office of the Herald. The writing is in a hand that seems to favor large, bold words, and a stylized flourish.]

Office of the Herald,

As you already know I am running for Council, and as such I require the following information. I request that you find the answers and then forward them to me, so that I shall - upon taking my seat on the Council - have the ability to begin my work immediately. I am in need of the following:

- A list of all imports and exports by Sanctuary.

- A list of all current trading partners.

- A list of all potential trading partners.

- A detailed list of the agricultural situation currently faced by Sanctuary. Where is the food coming from? How much food is there? How many farmers do we currently have?

- The number of citizens currently dwelling within Sanctuary.

- The number of citizens who are currently unemployed.

- A list of all industries and businesses within Sanctuary, and the percentage of the population that they employ.

- The amount of tax revenue generated and when the tax is collected.

Respond to this letter the moment you have the answers to all of the above so that I may make informed decisions about the future.

Hoaradin Delorin Keeper of the Purifying Flame

Candidate Delorin,

Trade is a private citizen's matter, although the Sanctuary government can purchase ore at it's weight in gold from the Shadow Tribe, or twice its weight for high-quality ore.

The Shadow Tribe, located in Sslal'teesh, is our only trading partner.

There was a scandal with the Stouthearts a few months ago; I suppose the Kuo Toa are willing to trade.

I know Mrs. Fears prepares beetle meat and Hans prepares rothe; I'm not sure where the sources of other foodstuffs comes from. I suppose it works its way here from the old canal ward or small outlying fungus farms.

We can report how many citizens vote in the upcoming election, but the last actual census is almost a year old.

Probably most citizens are "unemployed", moving from job to job, many times adventuring.

We don't track who uses their property for business or housing, just who holds it. We also don't inquire as to what they do with it.

Sanctuary receives adequate revenue from taxes and other services. ((OOC: We don't tie ourselves down to a specific value; it would have to be unrealistically large in order for Sanctuary to run the way it does.))
