Pepto Fizzwiggle

[left by a proxy at the Heralds Desk]

Dear Peppy,

How are things at the office? I hope you have been holding the fort in my absence. I hate to think of the town without someone's level headed leadership to steer the straight course.

I heard an alarming rumour that you had been saying dishonest and rather derisive things about me. In fact people have told me you suggested I forced you to sign the Executive Officer bill with threats of violence. This is most alarming. I do recall some rather heated negotiations, but as I remember it, they were mostly you demanding more power for the council, less for the mayor and less for the sheriff?

I don't know where you got the idea that I threatened you. Perhaps the actual idea of a threat is lost on you, and you don't know one when you hear it? Let me offer you a threat now, so you won't be confused again:

If you slander my good name again, to save your own sorry backside, it will be extremely deleterious for you. Normally I would l demand you join me in the arena and settle this the correct way, but I am a fugitive (no thanks to you). As such I would be forced to hunt you down the ugly way. However, everyone can make one mistake and I suppose I can forgive you once. But do not try my patience Peppy, another libellous outburst and our friendship will be forfeit.

- A. Y.
