[These notices and flyers are written elegantly and posted and placed about in Upper Sanctuary, mostly at the Town Hall, the Last Stand and Bazaar]
My name is Haldor Longhand and I am a devout Priest and servant of the Even-Handed, the Holy Lord of Justice. I am tired of seeing the endless corruption, the lack of Order and the lack of a strong Society that holds a strong sense of Purpose, Justice, Honor and Moral Strength.
My goals are simple and clear. My main and long term goal is to turn Sanctuary into a Society that is a bastion of Justice, Moral Strength and and other great Virtues. A Society that will stand the test of time and remain uncorrupted even in a dark land such as the Underdark.
To achieve my goals, I propose that we crack down on the vices and unjust means that have been used and still is used in our city and by our people.
Below are three of the evil acts that we ought to completely outlaw and make illegal immediately or very soon and when I say completely, that means not even our merchants should be allowed to sell items that can animate and summon the undead, demons and devils. These evil acts will not be used against non citizens either.
Necromancy
Necromancy in the form of animating and summoning the undead is completely like forcing slavery upon others, but on an even more wicked level. While physical slavery can cause the death of many people, their souls would still be free and will be given eternal peace, while the victims of this manner of necromancy losses not only their bodies, but their souls as well and they will never find peace until their undead shell has been destroyed and purged.
Infernalism
Infernalism is about the act of summoning and making unholy deals with creatures of demonic and diabolic nature. Such creatures are even more wicked and cruel than all the evil that lurks in the Underdark and their only goal in existence is to take sadistic pleasure in causing untold suffering and chaos on mortals. They are never to be trusted and no act of infernalism should ever be tolerated at all.
Torture
As a city founded by former slaves and a city that is a haven for escaped slaves, I am certain many of us knows much about torture and the nightmares that it brings to its victims. Torture is one of the main tools of the foul slavers that we hate so much and therefore it is completely not befitting for us to allow it, not even for our Law enforcers when they interrogate prisoners and criminals. We ought to create clear Laws prohibiting it to ensure that no one ever does such.
Now on to the other policies I plan to support and fight for.
Ban on working and trading with monstrous races and slavers
We ought to admit that it is utter folly to work with the vile and monstrous creatures that lurk in the Underdark. Nearly all the creatures that lurk outside our walls are slavers and thus we should not trade with them regardless of our necessity. This includes the kobolds of the Shadow Tribe and their dragon master as well because even if the kobolds are not slavers they remain cruel and wicked beasts, their dragon master is certainly a slaver as well and if we give into their demands and play by their rules we would already be compromising on our freedoms.
Strengthening our Military Presence and Defenses
I greatly like the idea and concept of the School of War that was founded by former Councilor Hosfyrd Reev and I propose that we should create a Compulsory military service program that makes good use of it. Every healthy and strong citizen of Sanctuary between the age of 17 and 21 ought to drafted and sent for combat training at the School for a few months. Once they complete their training, they may choose to join the Watch or remain in civilian life, but may be called into action at times of invasion and war.
Lastly, there are many other laws, ideas and proposals that we should and ought to do, but these would be my general ideas and plans at this current moment.
Vote for me and I shall do everything in my power to make Sanctuary stronger, safer and turn our Society into a bastion of Justice and Moral Integrity.
