For the Sheriff [DM]

[This letter is hand delivered to the Watch House. The writing is in a hand that seems to favor large, bold words, and a stylized flourish.]

Sheriff Azzam,

I have been attempting to meet with you for over two days. I have also attempted to meet with your Lieutenant Sunellar, but both of you seem to be busy. This is understandable, however the things I must talk to you about are of great importance. I ask that you send word when it shall be a good time to meet with you.

Until we meet, let the Purifying Light of the Flame illuminate you and reveal all that hide within the darkness.

//OOC: I've been trying to find a DM IG and on IRC for the last two days. When a DM has some time send me a message IG to let me know when I can go to the Watch House to speak to him.

[Sherrif Azzam squints as he reads the fiery text, eventually handing it to Lieutenant Sunellar and asking him to handle the matter]

[This letter is hand delivered to the Watch House. The writing is in a hand that seems to favor large, bold words, and a stylized flourish.]

Sheriff Azzam,

I am writing you to inform you that I have spoken with Sergeant Kharl Khemed and Private Cassey Stormshadow who shall be making a report on the information I passed to them. However, on a more personal matter that I wished to speak with you on they encouraged me to once again write you.

I have a desire to create a Holy Pyre to Kossuth the Firelord within Sanctuary. There are many items of evil intent, necromantic, aberrant, and the like that must be consumed by his Purifying Fires. As things stand most individuals with such items toss them into the waste barrels located around the city, which ultimately find their way to the Junk Yard. This is unacceptable and defeats the desired purpose.

Should you allow this Holy Pyre to be built it will also provide light and warmth to the citizens of this city. There are many dangers in the darkness as you well know, and many creatures fear the light of the flames. Additionally, it shall allow the faithful to approach the fire, give prayers to the Firelord and offerings to appease him, and if he is appeased he shall favor our city and protect it against threats.

Both Sergeant Kharl Khemed and Private Cassey Stormshadow seemed to meet with approval with the idea and the suggested location. If you walk outside of the Watch House, and across the bridge, look to your right at the small patch of Mushrooms located there. This area has been chosen as it is out of the way of the Watch Patrols, is easily accessible to citizens who are unarmed and armored and wish to give offerings, and it is located near a chasm so should the fires need to be snuffed out (though I doubt this will ever be the case) it may be swiftly pushed off the ledge.

As you can see Sheriff I have taken all the necessary safety precautions. To allow this Pyre is to illuminate the entire city in the warmth and protective light of Kossuth. If your permission is given I shall begin at once to prepare holy oils to begin building the fire, as well as prayers to purify the location.

May the light of the Purifying Flame illuminate and shelter you in your duties, and grant you the wisdom to make strong and steady decisions.

//OOC: I've already spoken to Wiggyboy and informed him of my intentions and several PC's listed in the letter. All I need is a yes to begin, and I will find a DM in game to carry it out. Basically, at this moment I am requesting that the fire be "useable" like a trash barrel where we can throw stuff in either to "purify it" (necromantic objects for example) or as offerings to Kossuth.

If you find suitable place my men are happy with then you can set your pyre. You should probably ensure council have no issue either.

-Azzam

You will not be allowed to construct your pyre in the exterior of the city. If you can locate a suitable, enclosed cave where you may maintain your holy flame, this would be acceptable; if necessary, you may lay claim to it as a temple to the Eternal Flame. This would require Council approval, but I doubt it would be overly difficult to obtain.
