Australasian Player Base

Hi All, Filthy Ike here.

We currently have 4 players from Perth, Western Australia who are training up to make an attempt at escaping from the underdark.

If you would like to join us in our quest and you are in a timezone somewhere around GMT+8, then post here and let us know who you are.

We are (Player Tag)

ElCadaver Nestek Olimoto Sublaxator

We are planning to play maybe 2 sessions a week as a dedicated team... and then as much as you like with others to amass the resources I'm sure will be needed to succeed.

Props to Howland. As a PW Player, DM and Builder myself, I'd like to say excellent job on the work done here... its a great place with great players and great scripted content... especially all done without Haks.

One thing I'd like to see is more options for weapons and shield design... not powerful stuff, but just using all the available weapon graphics.... maybe a script to change the weapon look like you do the armour would be nice........

Last time I checked this feature was already in. I could modify any part of my longsword.

We'd love to support a more active playerbase in the Australian time zones (honestly, don't even know how many people are playing that time of day). We do have one Australian DM who should be returning once he gets set up at school, but in the meantime best of luck and let us know if there's anything we can do to make the server more fun for those times when no DMs are around.

Im from Australia!

Well, not sure if it helps, but I see Filthy Ike very often. Your evening is euros day, and we do usually play then. Hopefully we meet IG more.

yes australian also goodluck

Im not young or free but I guess I fall within the nationstate of Australia, for what its worth.

I've seen Crocdile Dundee like 30 times. Does that count? :)

I'm on the Eastern side of Oz (GMT+10), player name Omma_Dawn (currently running Willian, the role-confused warrior-wizard 8) )

I'm still finding my feet somewhat (pretty new to multiplayer NWN) but I love EfU. The amount of effort put into the PW is obvious, and the player base is great too.

Hope to see more of you all, whenever I can get on

Yep I'm in australia GMT+8 (perth). My play times are rather sporadic, so a regular play time may be hard (though not impossible) What time were you thinking of?

(p.s. You can change bits but you cant change COLORS (ie metal types) on weapons yet, nor a shields changable yet colour wise or image wise)

Though i'd like to see the MAIN part of a weapon be based on what it's supposedly made of. Otherwise everyone is going to be playing with GOLDEN blades which will get boring fast.

It might even be possibly to script a function where you need to get a component or an item to SELECT particular colours. (like get an adamant powder to pick black or something) (A rustmonster gland to pick brown/copper) (Silver/Steel would be the default colour , and always pickable) (Gold might need some sort of Alchemist's GEM (lead to gold anyone?))

I've met the Mayor of Australia. His names Wally. He's a very friendly man.

In the immortal words of Monty Python: "Australia, Australia, Australia, we love you! Amen!"

Mayor? Well some poeple say we have a wally for a prime minister (the head of state) but he has another name.

Mayors are like where you live are only in charge of Cities or counties themselves not whole countries. Let alone states.

of course if you were being sarcastic I missed that in translation :)

Isn't Wally the clever fella from the Dundee movies?

"wally" is an australian term for an idiot usually :), Calling somebody a "wally" means they've done something pretty stupid, but yes i'm sure wally probably was a character in Croc movies.. but it's been ages since i've seen any of them.

So I'm sure you can appreciate the irony :)

Haha. I didn't know that. But no, Wally's a guy who plays in a band called Even. Got the nickname from some American rockers down there because he seems to know EVERYONE.

The Mayor's on the right.

I'll throw my hello in from Australia too, good old GMT+10 in sydney, and as far as calling someone a "wally" i haven't heard that in say, 10 - 15 years, i think the prefered term now is something rhyming with stickhead, or even truckhead.

Stickhead- and truckhead-like terms are too cross-continental. Sounds too US, UK, or even Canadian. I think you Aussies should stick with Wally...it sounds more culturally charming. I can imagine an American tourist response while having travelled in Australia...."Ah, it was so cute and strangely endearing how they called some guy a "Wally" and then beat the living snot out of him."

Wally has such a loveable, marsupial feel to it.

Having been out of school for some years now, my vocabulary of names and insults are probably somewhat out-dated :)

Wally still finds use, though, mainly because it's such a good-natured insult as you said. You can call someone a Wally, and they don't get all that offended... most of the time

Hey there, I'm new to the server...fresh from CoA. I'm in Australia (Brizzo) too so hopefully I'll be able to play with some of you guys.

PS- Scrappa, I was missin Vrugar and her cheap potions! (used to play tagnar the dwarf)

Welcome,

Omma_dawn is in your time zone - i am based in Perth. I currently Play Chell Addams - hope to see you in game.

Cheers Nestek

Yeah, I'm in Tamworth. My play times are usually late (ie 11pm-2 or 3am GMT+10).

I'm currently Eowung Ste'dwa.

Australian, GMT +10

Singapore GMT+8

wow Omma, you a tamworthite, I have fond memories of that place, I met me a lass from there once :D

I also think you are the closet nwn person to me yet, only 8 hours or so away :P

Actually I'm originally from Newcastle.. moved to Tamworth about 4 years ago for various reasons.. work mainly.

8 hours? Meh...

I'm in South-East Queensland

Gruff and myself are also aussie :P GMT+10 few hours away from brizzie...i dont think ive once ever called anyone an wally...

I am based in Perth West Aus

say would anyone here be interested in coming up with a Prelude idea thatwe could run at the GMT +8 - GMT +10 timeslots?

Would be good to get an active group of Aussies together especially now that we have more DMs on in our timeslots/

Thoughts anyone?

Yeah, you can all be Half-Orcs...perfect!

:P

I'd be keen on this. I'd prefer it a little later to match my main playing hours (usually post 11pm GMT +10), but this would be great...

Half Orcs? Hmmm......

hmmm, how about a circus troop that somehow ended up in the underdark.

you could have a whole heap of class range for that, and could be a spot of fun

This could be interesting... bards (entertainers/jesters), fighters etc (guards or strongmen), rogues (same), mages (flashy magic/illusions), even clerics would fit nicely.

I like it, it's a very different flavour.

yeah, my thoughts exactly ;)

Hm...I must admit the idea is an excellent one. If it gets going I'll make a character for it.

Not bad at all - Could also Consider a Druid animal Trainer

The rogues would be ideal for acrobats. I'd imagine a general group alignment of mostly Chaotic (CN, CG, N, NG).

The more I think about this concept, the more I like it.

Sadfadlasdah, seeing you came up with the idea, I vote you throw it to the DM's in the Prelude section

I am warming to this Idea as well - would be cool to rock up in the Underdark - fully decked as Circus people - outrageously colored clothes the whole bit!!!

Reminds me of an idea I had for a family of Gur, the Forgotten Realms equivalent of gypsies. Brightly colored clothes, performers and diviners, and rogues...sounds fun.

Fully coordinated, Trapeze-style, nut-grabbing tights. What's there not to love about this idea!!

It wouldn't be complete without an axe-throwing Dwarf who shows obvious displeasure for having to wear the mandatory circus attire.

yeh i would play in this prelude...but i aint doin no flips! i would prolly be a gaurd if anythin

any more new aussies? :O

New?

No I'm been here for ages :P

I'm sure there are scads of them about.

Worst case of thread necromancy ever.
