This letter is left in the Town Hall and Watch house. The word "urgent" is written on the front in large, capitalized text.
Town councilors and representatives of the Watch,
My name is Ashki Delazure and I write to you of an urgent situation that requires your attention. On the 18th of Kythorn a group of citizens and I were dealing with a tribe of gnolls within the unused mines just outside of the town gates. However, once we had defeated the gnoll chieften and cleared the cave of gnolls, we encountered a flind explorer on our way out of the caves.
The flind explorer seemed cordial enough. Despite some of the others in my party making some less-than-diplomatic remarks, he did not show any hostility or animosity. Merely curiousity in the cave and thanks to us for having cleared it.
However, what is unsettling is that the flind explorer revealed to us his tribe's plans to move into the gnoll caves. I asked the explorer if his tribe would cause any trouble for Sanctuary and he replied by saying that his tribe does not wish any interaction with any nearby settlements.
I warned the flind that it would be a good idea for his tribe to send an emissary to Sanctuary, but I cannot tell if they will accept that suggestion. At this point, the flind excused himself and moved on to continue exploring the gnoll cave.
I cannot determine whether or not these flinds would pose a threat to Sanctuary. The flind explorer created the impression that his tribe are isolationists, but of course it would be impossible to determine that for sure from that single meeting. Thus, I write this letter so that a more organized and formal response to these flinds can be prepared should they be encountered again.
