[Letter to Drin, left on the counter of the Last Stand.]

[Written in a smooth script, there are signs of a hindered hand in this letter. Though it's still very easily read. Black ink was used on the parchment.]

Drin the Paladin,

Concerning the items which were dicovered, and supposedly of evil intent. They've been studied as much as was possible, and destroyed. The spirit trapped within the amulet was an interesting example of a crossing between Enchantment and Necromancery, used in the fashion of a 'classical' Conjuration spell, in any case the enthralled spirit has been freed. The means of a spell to destroy the amulet are still beyond me, as the amulet was destroyed whilst me an Rindle studied it. The torch with the marking of Urdlen on it was burned, its ashes frozen, then its frozen ashes exploded, then the exploded ashes burned once more. The gloves I aquired, while not quite of evil nature, were inhabited by Necromancery magic. Since that is obviously viewed with worthless scorn, we destroyed them as well, though it was another interesting cross between Enchantment and Necromancery. In any case, the items are studied and destroyed. To the best of our efforts, we could not destroy the magic the items were embued with without destroying the items themselves, which is quite a shame. Should you aquire more items of that nature, I would like them, thus I may continue this research. I'll pay you if it's needed.

-Tyrmas. You can reach me at the Last Stand.

Tyrmas,

It is good to hear that these items of necromancy have been rid from this realm. I appreciate your integrity in this matter and keeping them to a matter of research for a counter spell to such dark powers.

You walk a very thin line between Light and Darkness, a perilous journey indeed. I can only hope that Darkness does not consume you during your experiments.

Sadly, I cannot comply with your request to deliver more of these such items. While, your intentions are neutral in intent and universal in help, should you succeed in developing a counter spell, I cannot hold on to such items.

They scratch against my soul in a way that I cannot easily describe with words. Should we adventure again and find similar items, again the determination of their danger to society will have to be determined at that time. Otherwise I will destroy any such items I find on my own for the safety of all the city.

I do not despise what you do, nor your intents, as success would mean Light will have dealt a blow to Darkness with a counter spell. Just please understand that my oaths are rigid and that I must judge each situation as it comes.

Be careful in your research and as I stated before, if your experiments harm anyone outside of yourself, I will be forced to stop you where you stand.

Be Well.

The Defender watch over you.

Drin

Drin the Paladin,

I find it mildly alarming that you're judging me as such. I'd like you to know that the amulet that was discovered wouldn't allow me to place it around my neck; as soon as I attempted to do so, a harsh burning sensation was felt in my forehead, causing me to cease my efforts. Aside of that, I pray to the Wary Sword as my patron. I do not, nor have I ever, considered myself of foul intent. Though perhaps I judge myself too highly. Surprizingly, though, in the case of the necklace, it was Rindle that managed to don and use it.

Be wary of those you consider friends, and more accepting of those you think of as enemies, is all the advice I can offer. - Tyrmas.

Tyrmas,

I did not accuse you of wrong doing. I simply stated what I would do if things ever got out of hand.

Be well and may darkness never claim you.
