A note left at the Caveworm lair.

Caveworms,

We need to speak in depth about recent happenings, I hear one named Straik used to be a member of the watch ranks, I'd ask that he takes the time to ink a reply if alive, able and well.

I was recently part of the battle between the forces of Battleload and Taine and those of Sunellar and the Griffons. We were after those who had murdered and caused harm, did I care what soil I treaded on in the pursuit, no. Any man with an inch of honour and nerve would have done the same. To be berated for it and gifted with the title coward really isn't ideal at all. There was nothing cowardly about our chase of that I assure, This isn't the only matter I wish to speak about.

Mycopolis is a stepping stone to upper and upper a stepping stone towards it, I don't think it is best to keep relations strained when we've the ability to maintain some form of protective alliance, The cave worms; burly and brawn are definitely friends worth having and the watch has attributes of its own we should discuss, know though that I do this mainly without the consent of the watch as a whole, though I pray the opinion changes with time.

Private Khemed

Private Khemed,

I do live still. It is fortunate, because if I did not, then your time on this letter would have been poorly spent; my brothers do not trouble with the archaisms of writing. Better to speak as men, face to face. I would be willing to meet with you, if for nothing else but to see how my former brothers of the Watch do now.

The one who has spoken or written to you before now, however, Alum, I believe has stated what we require, before a peace may be brokered.

That the guilty man who brought battle to our lands stand trial by combat, that he admits wrong, and that the possessions Battleload has stolen from us be returned. This is not to demean the Watch, or make you out to be subservient. There, a man's guilt is tested by empty words, and silver tongues. Here, a man's only measure is by the credit of his actions, and his prowess of arm.

Know too, that I harbor no ill-will toward the Watch. None of us do. We would gladly make a peace that is satisfactory to us both.

You must seek me out in Mycopolis. I may not leave this place for reasons you will understand when you come. Do not come with your Watch-issued equipment. Lower is a dangerous place, and I cannot make it known to all of Mycopolis that your coming is invited; it is safer that you come in guise.

Quickfury Straik, of the Cave Worm Clan
