Haldor Longhand [A few copies of scrolls left opened are placed about Mycopolis, one directly by the entrance of Clan Cave Worm's cave]Greetings, my name is Haldor Longhand, I am a devout Priest of the Just God and citizen of New Dunwarren.
I write this scroll in reply to what some people of Mycopolis has posted about in Sanctuary concerning New Dunwarren and our recent annexation of the alleys nearby Mycopolis which will now be known as New Haven.
Firstly, your people accuse us of seeking to claim the lands belonging to Mycopolis, but yet we have only claimed the alleys that were left in the hands of the goblinoid undead; which we defeated. If these alleys truly belonged to your people, these alleys would have been cleansed of the goblinoid presence long ago.
Secondly, they accuse us of seeking to force down our laws and faith upon the people of Mycopolis, but this is completely not the case, for us to even consider the act of forcing others to obey us is to commit a grave sin against the teachings of the Holy Lords of the Triad and other Celestial Powers.
The Holy Lords of the Triad and other Celestial Powers only seeks followers and service from those who obey them willingly out of their own free will. Therefore this is completely not our wish, we may like to see the people of Mycopolis abandon their ways and embrace the Truth, but we shall do so respectfully.
Thirdly, you and your people may even accuse us of being ignorant of your ways, but I say to you I know far more about your ways and the ways of your people than you possibly think.
I come from the harsh and cold tundra plains of the North, where barbarians and men of the wilderness roam freely and I was even born to an Uthgardt tribe; the tribe of the Black Lion.
I completely know of the ways of Mycopolis and I know that it is a way that brings the worse out of us and that it is a way that lowers us and our people to the same station as animals.
My tribe was lost, just like all of you are, but we finally saw and found the truth and I say to all of you that the truth is that there will never be a perfect society or a society that is worth fighting and dying for unless you and your people embrace the doctrines of Justice, Compassion, Courage, Order, Honor and true Liberty.
Live as real free men and women do, live free of barbarism and violence. Live free from all the petty thoughts of conflict and do not lower yourselves to the station of animals. Be one of both Nature and Order.
We are not here to force our Laws and Faith upon any of you and we did not come here to conquer, but we simply wish to offer the Truth. All of you have the option of learning what the Truth is and to embrace it or you all can reject it and remain in your old barbaric ways and never come close to what perfection truly is, but we will hold no grudges against the people of Mycopolis nor force anything on them.
If you wish to hear more of the Truth, then I welcome you gladly with open arms to come and speak to me. Let the relationship between our people not end in bloodshed, but in peace.
Lastly, we have offered both peace and compassion, it is up to all of you to reply in kind or to ignore these words and act against us, but be warned we shall not stand idle if violent conflict is brought against us by the people of Mycopolis; we will retaliate in self defense as any community would.
The blessings of Lord Tyr upon you all.

A rat scurries up the long rope to New Dunwarren, depositing a letter there.
Zealots,
Your words do little to hide your contempt and disrespect for our people, even written on paper.
If you truly wish for peace, you will abandon your plans to steal our lands and leave them to those who may heal them.
Additionally, one of your own assaulted our gates using unnatural undead. Some of our own warriors even fell victim to your zealot's foul magic. If you wish to regain the honor lost in this act, one must come stand trial by combat to prove your intentions, as well as offer a gift of reparation or act of service.
However, know this- We will not yield our lands to you. If you insist on attempting to steal them, you will learn the meaning of true honor, courage, strength, and ferocity.

We do not hide our contempt for your faithless society. As was clearly pointed to you, we destroyed the undead in the alleyways, we put up a guard in Mycopolis who prevented them from entering the lands, not you. The guard now resides within New Dunwarren, waiting for a new task. Your barbarians did little to stem the flow of undead near the alleyways. If it is your intent to assualt us for taking the land, then do so, but you will be crushed under the holy might of the righteous. If you wish to live in cooperation with each other, we are willing to see such through.
One of our own did not assualt your gate. Not only was Kanaut found innocent of the undead invasion, he was also nto a member of our society. He had been expelled from the Society, and was banned from our lands when the 'invasion' occured. If you do not understand such complexities, I am sure you can find a noble person amongst your tribe to explain it to you. There must be at least one. We lost no honor in his actions, we do not need to apologize.
If you wish to stand trial for combat, I will meet you in Mycopolis. No voodoo magics, no fallen creatures enslaved to your will. You come alone, and we will fight, but only so that you see that you will lose horribly if you try to invade.

Haldor Longhand,
An uthgardt and bloodtraitor, you claim yourself knowledgeable of our ways. What you say to us though only further betrays the depths of your ignorance.
You say our ways reduce men to the station of animals. You have it backwards. Your ways seek to elevate men beyond what they truly are. We are all beasts. You are as well. No matter how you primp your hair or shine your golden shields, you are still the same as you were before, except prettier, in the eyes of your peers.
You say to us that we must embrace the doctrines of Justice, Compassion, Courage, Order, Honor, and true Liberty. You insinuate that we do not.
These are exactly the beliefs that comprise Mycopolis.
No injustice goes unrighted, no compassion slighted, no courage ignored. Order is upheld, and liberty never withheld. All honor is gained or lost to each as they will follow or deny these principles. I say that it is you, not we, who denies those principles you flout.
Any who do not fit your narrow definition of moral righteousness are barred from your world. You deny them liberty. You hide behind your mystic wards from any outside influence. You have no courage. You look down upon any who do not agree with your ways. You have no compassion. In your ways, you lose honor in the eyes of those who look upon your 'city on a hill' with anything but the most praising eye. Perhaps Order is the only principle you do uphold.
We will never abandon our ways to embrace your false truths, for all you offer are empty laws and foolish strictures that strip one of their soul in service to an implacable, uncaring force.
If you wish to learn more of our truth, then feel free to seek out any one of us in Mycopolis. We do not ward ourselves against the truths of uncomfortable visits. All are welcome to partake of Mycopolis' bounty, regardless of their faith. More than may be said of your corrupted theocracy.
