Letter to the Ordinants in New Dunwarren.

It appears the Griffon warband has been misunderstood since the attack made by one of your Ordinants, we do not defend thralls or Abberations, we do not defend what is a threat to all life and must be destroyed. We were hired to defend the merchant, who works at the crone, so in extension to defending the Merchant, we were made to defend the crone against your attack. If we knew there was a thrall there, we would of taken great pains to see him eliminated, without the entirety of lower up raising against us. Again, we do not defend the abberation, we do not defend which is a threat to Sanctuary, or the world. The Balance shall be kept, the abberation disrupts this, if the ordinant who called us Abberation Sympathizers still wishes to call us such, I would like you to meet commander William of the Griffon Warband.

Leave a letter at the Old Tribe of Blades camp to contact us.

Corporal Unebril Fei'rein, Priest of the Oak Father, Tracker of the Griffon Warband, Ranger of Silvanus. one of the many keepers of the Balance.

Corporal Faei'rein,

I have spoken with a member of the Griffon Merchant Company at length, one Jerome Firethorn. I do understand your position of neutrality in regards to the politics of Sanctuary, I know that members of your company were at the Crone when Ordinant Drilacko conducted his investigation, and that your company was simply doing what they have been employed to do by your Crone employer. I would expect you to do nothing but conduct the business you were employed to do. It is unfortunate that you were caught in the middle of Ordinant Drilacko's efforts to investigate.

I am heartened to know that you feel that the aberration is a threat to all sentient beings in Sanctuary, regardless of race, color, or creed.

I believe Ordinant Drilacko was under a great deal of pressure at the time (I have not as yet spoken with him in person since the events at the Crone), and he may have been simply defending himself in case anyone planned to capture or attack him. Not surprising based on the veracity of his actions. In a sense, they were necessary due to the fact that there have been a number of reports at the Crone of illithid activity. In another sense, if more people had been informed of the Ordinant was about to do, the illithid would have quickly and easily slipped away (which in fact haqppened anyway). Such is the nature of hunting the illithid - the powerful ones are mind readers among many other malign 'gifts' they possess. Thus, a dangerous investigation also threatened the lives of many innocent bystanders. For that I can only offer my apologies.

I would be happy to meet with you myself in person, or with Commander William at any time you deem fit, to discuss these matters in more depth. I certainly do not wish to futher upset the Griffon merchant company through a misunderstanding of the true intentions of the Society. Your neutrality will be a powerful tool in the many darks to come.

I wish you and your company many future successes. May Mystra Bless you,

- Ordinant Kepler Szul
