Prestige Class Information

I know this is probabally very low on your agenda...but would it be possible for the DM's to post some information about the prestige classes, in the forum marked for it that is currently empty? I know a few people I talk to, have no idea what is expected in how a class is portrayed in the setting. Much as I have learned in my one application for a prestige class....sometimes opinions on what a Prestige Class *is* varies greatly. I'm sure you get tired of answering the same questions about the classes over and over gets old.

Have you tried reading them up in your manual? :)

Arcane Archer: Master of the elven warbands, the Arcane Archer is a warrior skilled in using magic to supplement their combat prowess.
Would have to be a leader of an Elven Warband, I believe.

Assassin: The assassin is a master of dealing quick, lethal blows. Assassins often function as spies, informants, killers for hire, or agents of vengeance. Their skill in a variety of dark arts allows them to carry out missions of death with shocking, terrifying precision.
As it says - Spies, informants, killers for hire or agents of vengeance.

Champion of Torm: Champions of Torm are mighty warriors who dedicate themselves to Torm's cause, defending holy ground, destroying enemies of the church, and slaying mythical beasts.
Apart from Torm, a Champion of Torm can be a champion of any deity, as long as it allows for Good and Neutral Character. I.e. a Champion of Chauntea or a Champion of Talos.

Dwarven Defender: The defender is a sponsored champion of a dwarven cause, a dwarven aristocrat, a dwarven deity or the dwarven way of life.
Obvious, a champion to some Dwarven cause. The Warden of Ale and Smell, or something.

Harper Scout: The Harpers are a secret society. Members are dedicated to holding back evil, preserving knowledge and maintaining the balance between civilization and the wild. The Harper Scout performs many duties including espionage, stealth and reporting information.
Normally I'd say being a part of the Harper Scout society is a requirement for this Prestige Class, though having this Prestige Class is not a requirement for being a member of their organisation. However, I believe I picked up word that this Prestige Class has been modified in Efu, but to what extent, I do not know.

Pale Master: Necromancy is usually a poor choice for arcane spellcasters. Those who really want to master the deathless arts almost always pursue divine means. However, an alternative exists for those who desire power over undead, without losing too much of their arcane power. Enter the pale master, who draws on a font of special lore that provides a macabre power all its own.
This is for all our fun-loving Arcanists that wish to look into the unlife. It is a requirement for the Spellguard faction  .

Red Dragon Disciple: Red Dragon Disciples are sorcerers, and sometimes bards, who use their magical power as a catalyst to ignite their red dragon blood, realizing its fullest potential. They prefer a life of exploration to a cloistered existence. Already adept at magic, many pursue adventure, especially if it furthers their goal of finding out more about their draconic heritage.
Those that have the blood of Dragons running within their veins, set out a study in order to come closer to their true heritage. By exploring this, they further embrace their heritage and come closer to their Draconic powers, eventually becoming a Half-Dragon in it's own right.

Shadowdancer: Shadowdancers operate in the border between light and darkness. These nimble artists of deception are never completely trusted but always induce wonder when met. Many use their abilities to infiltrate past defenses and dupe others.
I have no idea what a character should require in Efu to become a Shadowdancer. I believe I picked up that this Prestige Class will not be allowed in Efu.

Shifter: A shifter has no form they call their own. Instead, they cloth themselves in whatever shape is most expedient at the time. While others base their identities largely on their external forms, the shifter actually comes closer to their true self through all of their transformations. Of necessity, their sense of self is based not on their outward form, but on their soul, which is truly the only constant about them. It is the inner strength of that soul that enables them to take on any shape and remain themselves within.
Obviously the ability to take a great many forms, and sticking with those. You let your Humanoidness drop and live in many different bodies, becoming one with them.

Weaponmaster: For the weapon master, perfection is found in the mastery of a single melee weapon. A weapon master seeks to unite this weapon of choice with his body, to make them one, and to use the weapon as naturally and without thought as any other limb.
Training yourself in one weapon, going to extreme lengths to acquire the perfection needed to become a part of your weapon, and let your weapon become a part of you.

By all means, I wouldn't be me if I got some things wrong. So do not rely on this, merely view this as a little guideline.

Descriptions of prc's foundin the manual are often very vague or missing vital details, especialy that of Red Dragon Diciple and Shadow Dance, infact from the pont of veiw they give in Shadow Dancer its like as if they have'nt aclue about shadow dancers at all since they don't give any actual insight into how they become one.

They are pretty clear about Red Dragon Disciples. You search for your Draconic heritage, and the further you go on your search, the more you find out, therefore the more powers you unlock.

And Shadowdancers have something to do with Shar. But both Good and Evil can become Shadowdancers, so I don't know.

WOW! after reading on my dragon heritage I have wings and immunity paralysis heck I'm half dragon yay!

See what I mean?

Usually sorcerer can become RDD because they have it in their blood. The deal is, that they have to perform somekind ritual to unlock that power, that keeps them in their human form. After the ritual they slowly start to change and evolve their dragonic powers.

Naga WOW! after reading on my dragon heritage I have wings and immunity paralysis heck I'm half dragon yay!

See what I mean?

I never talked about reading. I do not know about Paha's ritual, but it is something highly likely. You venture out, have some beers with a few Ancient Red Dragon buddies of yours... They say like, "Hey mate, you don't happen to be a Sorcerer, no? You are? Wow, I knew it! You smelled a bit like my brother, Hrásfdijásfijá'dash the Reveller. Yeah, you're related!"

Then you just, well... Look into it, slowly transforming, probably because of the ritual.

Man... There -is- few listed! Let me look the Red Dragon Disciples up, now I'm getting confused!

The first thing is to remember they are PRESTIGE classes. They just aren't other classes. All of them require dedication. If you aren't constantly working towards the class, even after you have it, then you likely shouldn't have it. We don't want to just hand them out all over the place, or they lose the prestige behind them.

Arcane Archer:

This is basically a champion of elves. Leading an elven warband would be best, as would championing elven causes. This doesn't mean you should apply to become an elven champion. You should already be one BEFORE you ask for the PrC.

Assassin:
An assassin is an assassin. Before you apply, you should take some killings for hire, and you know, assassinate people. If your assassination count is at 0, you won't be approved.

Black Guard:
I'm going to answer this one for a few classes. Don't call us, we'll call you.

Champion of Torm:
First thing to remember is that there are already paladins which are far more common (although LG). Champions of <diety> should really represent the ideals of their deity. They should go above and beyond, proving time and time again they are one of the few chosen of their deity. It requires long term loyal service. If I can't look at your character and don't know your deity, you probably are not a good fit for this class.

Dwarven Defender:
Much like the arcane archer is the elven champion, this is the dwarven champion. You should be championing the dwarven cause above all else to be considered for this class.

Harper Scout:
Don't call us, we'll call you.

Pale Master:
Ideally, you will have some kind of mentor in getting this class, and dedicate research to both necromancy, and the rituals required.

Red Dragon Disciple:
First requirement is dragon blood (sorcerer/bard level), but beyond that, the character should be dedicated to uncovering their heritage. It shouldn't be a matter of, "do ritual x" and now you are free to go level up. This requires dedication to the class, much like the rest of the PrC's.

Shadowdancer:
Don't call us, we'll call you.

Shifter:
Don't call us, we'll call you.

Weaponmaster:
You should use a single weapon exclusively. Preferably, you should find a mentor to train in this class, although this can be difficult. Just liking a weapon isn't enough. This class shows extensive training with that weapon above and beyond other highly skilled fighters.
