Our Agency is alarmed at these recent efforts to begin dismantling portions of the Great Machine that is integral to our city's defenses. I strongly urge you to reconsider efforts to launch a policy that will weaken, not strengthen the entirety of Dunwarren.

The Machine continues to reveal its secrets to our Magocracy. Selena Tower is booming with new insights from how energy works within the Machine, to how it can continually restructure itself to respond to new threats and dangers to itself and those who maintain it.

Very recently, our scouts and wizards located the Omega Prime Vaults and uncovered a very large number of animatrons. Of these, 13 are fully functional and over two dozen more are only in need of very minor repairs. I am certain you are aware that our animatrons, requiring no food, feeling no fear, and suffering no pain are ideal guardians and soldiers. With the cooperation of the Council, we can uncover more vaults. As a gesture of our good will, we can now free up a number of Animatron State Defenders who can return to guarding the city gates.

In return for this, we simply ask that you leave the Machine and its contents within our care. Enter into discussions with us about what you require, and what we require that our needs are met mutually. The Machine can provide for both of our settlements, and has given greatly to us recently.

I understand your concern, and agree with you on a number of points- We are currently in discussion over our course of action. I'll keep the Magocracy appraised of any developments; hostilities between us do little but destroy what little we've currently been able to eke out in the Underdark.

While additional security is always welcome, it is no solution to the problem, as metal is needed to keep the economy stable. I think offering us another source of metal would be the only long term solution.

Your superiors did confess in a recant meetings that the Spellguard possess a steady source of ore. However last time we spoke, you were unwilling to start trading, perhaps the situation could be reconsidered? It would be mutually benefiting, and it would not be charity on your side, as you could ask a reasonable price for the ore you trade.
