Ogre Bandits in the wild don't drink the potions they spawn with- I'd like to think they'd be even deadlier if they actually used the potions of haste/blur/barkskin/invisibility, etc they tend to spawn with.
Or is this intentional and the potions are supposed to be a reward for those who dare fight those beasts?

I would say that they are completely dangerous enough without downing those potions considering their senses are pretty good and they can deal a lot of damage while taking a substantial amount as well.

Also, I was under the impression that the bandits also dealt Sneak Attack damage. If thats true, talk about a mess of a fight with them.

The AI will sometimes drink those potions. It's kind of black magic if you ask me.

A single ogre bandit wiped out a group of 5 lvl 4 clerics. Do not underestimate them

I think I fought an Ogre Bandit who actually drank at least the haste potion once. If I recall correctly it killed almost everyone.
The Ogre Bandits are hard enough as they currently are, especially when lower level characters could encounter them in the abandoned mines!

I can, indeed, attest to the fact that they sometimes drink the potions. Imagine my chagrin when both I and the Ogre Bandit were at "near death", all my druid spells and summons depleted (even my animal companion dead!), and he chugged a Cure Critical Wounds potion.
