My name is Dr Vile (Pronounced Vee-lay), once a Gondsman active in Lantan to advance scientific knowledge, and more recently, a captive of this stone labyrinth we call the Underdark. I couldn't help but notice your written announcement to the public. I am wanting to resume my old work, and your research team provides the ideal opportunity to do that.

I have no skill with The Weave, nor inclination to learn how to use it, but I have a good grasp of the scientific method. I am a physicist, physician and biologist, in most incarnations of these studies. I am enthusiastic about pursuing the mysteries of alchemy, but with the scientific method as has never been previously applied. My mathematics is decent, I have a tolerance for hard work, and I've been told by my peers that I am a brilliant craftsman.
