About transitions and PvP...

As regards this thread...

I can't help but think this was a response to an incident yesterday, where a group of Ledskirs followed our group to our quest area.

So, if your original destination is an area non-party members cannot enter, and you're already at the transition, you're supposed to OOC -not- continue where you were going, the moment someone appears and says "Hey"?

Also, it seems questionable to me whether someone should knowingly initiate PvP with a questing party on their way to/from a questing area. There's a lot of meta-gaming that can surround the pick-up of the quest and the entering of a quest area. If the above DM posting -was- indeed regarding our party at the brewery, I would like to chat with a DM about my perceptions of events, as I had reasonable doubt as to the legitimacy of the actions of our pursuers.

The post was not in response to your event, but another event. And going beyond simply a response, its a blanket reiteration of pre-existing rules that are for some reason all too commonly broken.

As for the situation you're referring too, it was fine. Your assailants chased you into the quest area, and had notified a DM who set up a temporary transition for them so they could continue the pre-quest events. Nothing was metagamed.
