Society Chapterhouse, New Dunwarren

The two Ordinants who fled death at the hands of the mob in Lower Sanctuary are requested to report immediately to the Watch House to submit testimony identifying their assailants. One woman is already in custody for admitting to the crime; warrants have been circulated upon two others. The Ordinants are also required to clarify their role in the execution by flame of a pregnant woman believed to carry an aberrant monster within her womb. The convictin of those responsible for the murder and assault against your Ordinants, and the severity of the charges levelled against the two surviving Ordinants for their role in the execution by flame of the pregnant woman, will depend entirely upon your cooperation with the Watch in this matter. I hope that your cooperation is swift and complete.

-Sergeant Sunellar

Sergeant Sunellar,

As citizens of New Dunwarren, and being under no obligation to submit to requests made by militia tasked with policing only the borders of the area known as Old Sanctuary, I am afraid we are un-inclined to agree to your request on this occasion.

Be assured that we have launched a full investigation into this attack against our Order and that we will ensure that swift justice finds those misguided citizens of Lower whom would dare to take the life of one of our anointed crusaders. We thank you for the zeal by which you have taken it upon yourself to investigate this case however, though we assure you that Watch assistance will be entirely unnecessary.

In the spirit of cooperation however you can expect to find papers to arrange the extradition of the perpetrator which you currently hold to be forwarded to your Watch house soon, so that she might face justice within New Dunwarren for her crimes against our citizens.

-Ordinant Kanaut

As individuals who dwell in Dunwarren, regardless of whatever you deem to call yourselves, you are beholden to the laws of Sanctuary and the jurisdiction of the Watch. I will remind you that any vigilante action against your assailants is a crime, and that, should you again refuse to cooperate in regard to the Ordinants stationed in Lower, arrest warrants will be issued on a capital charge of murder for the two surviving Ordinants. No criminal in the custody of the Watch will be handed over to New Dunwarren. Your settlements may have claimed autonomy from Sanctuary, but the laws of the city are still enforced throughout Dunwarren, and still apply to any citizen of Sanctuary.

Do not waste my time forwarding any more idiotic and brash assertions concerning your supposed authority. Your Society has three days to cooperate fully before warrants are issued for the arrest of the two surviving Ordinants, and the warrants against the criminals involved in the murder and assault are dropped due to the Society's own refusal to submit testimony concerning their identities. I suggest you consider carefully how much you allow your arrogance to dictate your actions, and in so doing to permit murderers and potential Illithid servitors to go free-and your own men to suffer because they refuse to justify their allegedly righteous actions. If your Ordinants were in the right, then they have nothing to hide, and nothing to fear-save a loss of face that you apparently believe more important than your holy crusade.
