Im planning to start a faction to explore the intricacies and fancyness of summoning.. err.. conjuration. Of course, only wizards of the school Conjuration will be allowed. The basic concept is a group of conjurers on the surface attempt a summon too powerful for them, summon - insert Something big, magical, and bad here- lose control and the survivors (the PC's) fall into the underdark during the battle.

Thats all that i have planned out, so when we have enough people, we will figure the rest out on the IRC. I want the faction to be somewhat small, so PM me if you want to be part. Preferably, well start this coming weekend.

You probably have a very interesting concept for a faction, but you may want to consider that the already established factions, particularly the DM factions, are rather under-manned at this point.

You should consider making this group of conjurers, or simply a single conjurer yourself, and phasing it into one of the other groups. The Spellguard, Seekers, Society, gangs, and now the Watch too accepts wizards and sorcerers of any school (except maybe necromancy?).

possibly, but i have an utter-terror of the application process. But that is probably a good idea. Ill think about it.

And by reaper, I mean the application process.

To be less poetic about it, really, it seems scary and all since noone likes being rejected (just ask Kotenku, he knows all about rejection) but it's actually rather straightforward and not that horrible after you get over the strange "fear" and all.

Also, A large number of players and DMs would be glad to aid you with any application issues.

The DM's are -really- helpful to help you write an application, and make your character have some fun goals.

And unless it's rejected because it's completely outlandish and unfitting, DMs will usually try to work with you to make the character fit what you're looking to apply for if you want.

Yeah, true, I just need to apply, NVM about the Faction then. Ill... *gulp* apply for the spellguard with my intended character when he hits level 5.

Apply early. Hell, apply before you make the character. This gives you instant goals, and connects you to the community much more quickly than being a Joe Schmoe would. Once the character is made, you can start taking immediate IG steps towards joining the high-nosed arcanist legion we all love and fear!
