Society Chapterhouse, New Dunwarren

I will make this brief. Your own Ordinants have declared the agreement that once existed between the city of Sanctuary null and void, and relocated to the isolation of New Dunwarren. Your own Ordinants have, again, claimed that the affairs of Sanctuary, and her people, are of no concern to them; rather, only their crusade against the aberrations matters. You broke your ties with this city, and you continually refuse to acknowledge any manner in which you may be of aid to it.

Yet now, your Ordinants have taken it upon themselves to attempt to create hysteria against the Watch and the Seekers for the release of thirteen pregnant women bearing aberrations within their wombs. Your Ordinants have further taken the laws of this city into their own hands by their vigilante efforts to capture and incinerate these suspected pregnant women alive. The same city that you so blithely turn a blind eye to for most of its waking moments, you now attempt to sow panic, chaos, and discord among-and you now stroll throughout and act as if you are empowered to dispense your own savage form of violence against.

I am told that your order claims to follow a holy, sacred crusade. I am told that paladins are counted among your numbers-and servants of the higher powers. I am told that you have committed your lives to fighting this aberrant menace so that others need not-that your crusade is intended to protect and shield others from these vile, twisted corruptions. Yet what I see now is sacrilege of the highest order. To burn a woman alive-no matter what lies within her-is a heinous, savage act. To pretend that your actions are intended to protect others, to take away their burden, and villanously turn upon them when the hint of corruption crosses them is hypocrisy of the highest degree. You claim to protect others, yet what you do now is seek to destroy these women-and any associate with them-with no though or care to their own suffering and protection. You have written women who are still alive, still capable of being saved, off to die by immolation while the masses of Lower Sanctuary cheer on at this latest display of gore and mayhem in their streets.

I am not interested in receiving a return letter attempting to prove the veracity of your actions to me, and to dispute the accusations I have made against you; your actions cannot be justified, and any efforts to twist my words against me will only be paltry efforts unworthy of such supposedly skilled warriors. I will only state this: if your number does claim to have paladins and servants of higher powers within, then you know that your actions are uncalled for, unjust, and brutal. The agreement that once existed between this city and your Society is no longer upheld, by the words of your own members; there is no leeway for you to attempt to pervert the law for your own ends.

Extinguish the flames of your pyre in Lower, and work to bring these women into custody so that they may be helped, if possible-and if not, so they may die with dignity, not immolated before a cheering mass of frightened men and women. If you do not, understand that my full efforts will be brought against you to prove any Ordinants who operate this heinous pyre guilty of the crime of murder.

These women have had their lives taken from them, their freedom replaced with mental and physical chains, their own beauty-and the beauty and loved they hoped to hold for their offspring-twisted to corruption, decay, and now savage, violent death. Do not continue seeking to deprive them of whatever hope they have left; you dishonor your own crusade, your own vows, and your own souls by doing so.
