Yurtus

This has been addressed before, and since than it hasn't been fixed.

LE is not allowed for Yurtus, but should be allowed. He allows LN, but why would he allow LN over LE? Another reason why there should be LE allowed is when you summon the death avatar you get 1 pt towards evil, which can eventually end up with you loosing your spells.

I saw some Yurtus LE clerics today that couldn't cast because of that, and they told me a DM said it was a bug, I'm not sure if they are working on fixing it, but I figured I would advise you anyway.

They spelled the name correctly? Cause you wrote "Yurtus" three times while it's "Yurtrus"

As far as I know it's IC. A number of NE Deities only allow LN and CN, including Velsharoon and I don't know any more but Velsharoon's one of them.

As far as I can tell this is cannon - on page 151 of Faiths and Pantheons the Cleric Alignments for Yurtrus are CN, LN, NE.

However, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to changing them to LE, NE, and CE. It makes more sense for an Orcish deity, especially one like Yurtrus.

My problem with spelling probably doesn't apply to them.

But it still should have evil alignments.

Agreed, my yurtrus cleric died cause of it.

It makes no sense, just as Velsharoon's clerics' allowed alignments make no sense. They should both be changed.

I disagree with Anthee, not because his point isn't more than valid enough, but because this is a restriction that applies to so many gods in the Realms that the one-step rule is almost the exception rather than the rule. I'd rather see the alignment points awarded for summoning the death avatar -- which I never understood why had been implemented in the first place as it is no less abusable than static quests with alignment shifts, which haven't been implemented for that very same reason -- removed.

Snot:

There are 117 deities listed in Faiths & Pantheons, monster deities not included. Of them, 8 have cleric alignments that do not conform to the one-step rule, only 3 of which have no explanation whatsoever as to why this is so (Velsharoon, Sebek, Yurtrus). That means approximately 7% of the deities don't follow the one-step rule and 2.5% lack any explanation.

So, I'd call it something of a stretch to say that

Snoteye this is a restriction that applies to so many gods in the Realms that the one-step rule is almost the exception rather than the rule.

(And even if this wasn't the case, I don't see what your point could possibly be since we're only talking about the deities with weird cleric alignments and no explanation provided or apparent.)

So I exaggerated a little bit (I did count paladins as well). >.> Nevertheless, this has been discussed several times and the end result is always the same; nothing. Besides, I really disagree with a point that was made the last time this was brought up, that summoning the avatar would be an act deserving of evil points. Sure, it might not exactly be a good act (and, in some cases, outright evil), but I imagine that very few clerics would have taken advantage of such a power to an extent that they wouldn't already be evil. It is, at its core, an unsupervised alignment shift, and that equates to an exploit in my book.

And it causes the skill to become useless for Velsharoonites and Yurtrusians, while Kelemvorites, Urogalanites, Jergalites, and worshippers of Osiris can use it as they like. I think you should just get rid of the evil points.
