[letter to Sergeant Sunnellar]

Good Sergeant,

I would like to formally lodge a complaint related to the handling of the assassination attempt upon me in the Bazaar, in full view of several of your Watchmen. It galls me that such an attempt can be made, and no trial is conducted and the assassin is free that same day.

If you would please explain the vagaries of Sanctuary Law that allow an attack using deadly magics to occur, with the consequences being a fine and jail term of merely a few hours, I would appreciate it. If this is not attack with intent to kill as your law clearly states, I am perplexed what might be. Must one die for the attacker to be punished appropriately?

Hopefully you see the dangerous precedent this sets, and will understand why vigilantism will increase dramatically if the Watch allows such attacks to go unpunished.

When some question why we of New Dunwarren choose to govern and police ourselves, these types of incidents underscore our views of such.

May Torm grant you the strength to carry the heavy burden you bear,

Sir Geoffrey Wellington

Sir Wellington,

There are currently no reports filed regarding an attempt on your life. Provide me with a full written accounting of the assassination attempt so that I may better understand your claims.

-Sergeant Sunellar
