Hosfyrd Reev, School of War

Sir,

I'm writing just to let you know I haven't took your ring and run for the sunny surface.

I've written two short verses so far, that are mildly inspirational. I didn't want them to sound propagandistic. If you'd be kind enough to provide some input on them so I'll know if this is the feel that you're looking for. Also, I'm trying to get a hang of stories about the people you mentioned in our conversation to use them in my verses, with no success so far.

Two small pieces of paper are attached:

When a man falls amid the battle And by his fallen flesh, He contributes to the glory of all He is joyful.
The Way to the surface world Is like a ladder. You need to keep climbing Or, in time, you'll fall down miserably.
Hafur Rher Clan Stoutheart.

Hafur,

These are very good, especially the first one. Take the ring I gave to you in good faith as your own, and with it my gratitude.

If any more inspiration comes to you, I'll let you know that your verses are to be hung from the wall in the School of War for all to see and appreciate. A fine way for a skald to make a name for himself.

- Reev
