Hello. Thought I'd introduce myself here, if it's alright.

I've very recently purchased NWN and all the expansions, so I'm still learning the ropes as it were. I was encouraged to try out this server from a friend of mine who plays on here already (we both met on WoW, but I've become pretty disillusioned with the state of RP in that game so decided to look somewhere else for my RP fix).

I'm writing out an application for a character I'd like to play some day, but I'm just going to start out with something really simple to get used to the game and the setting. The character's as basic as they come; a half-orc barbarian/thrill-seeker type, who found his way into the Underdark in pursuit of untold treasures. He got cocky and overestimated his own strength, underestimating the strength of the creatures of the Underdark and promptly getting himself beaten nearly to death. However, he was found barely alive and taken to Sanctuary, which is where his storyline really begins as he hopes to conquer the Underdark. Perhaps he'll learn to care about something other than thrill-seeking.

I'm quite interested in the ideas behind this and would like to get involved. I should be around on weekday nights (from about 7pm GMT) and weekends (could be any time from 1pm GMT onwards), but bear in mind I won't be on every single day; I've still got a few commitments in WoW which will need my attention every so often.

As the one and only Ace, I shall wish you the grandest of times upon our not-so-humble server. *I* can gurantee you that EfU is one of the best RP servers out there-it's the Order of the Stick or Goblins Comic of Neverwinter Nights servers.

Be sure to read up on the tips for new players, Mort's excellent "Making Dynamic Characters" guide and The Beggar's "Why Character's Die".

Reading those will save you hours of pain in the long run! :wink:

As a new player, I will recommend Preludes and PC Factions for quick involvement in some of the intense plotting going on here at EfU.

DM Factions, with application required, are also great ways to get involved in the community, but the above should suit you best until you know your way around.

Heh, thanks for the warm welcome, guys. I'm pretty keen to start on this, for the setting and ideas definitely intrigue me.

It's just a matter of waiting for the server to come back online, unless Dan's been misinforming me of where it is... :P

The only trouble is things are pretty hectic over on WoW all of a sudden. I've got a few things I need to try and arrange, so I'm not sure when will be the first night I can actually join in. It should be sometime in the next few days, though, so it shouldn't be too long before I come on.

Like I say I'll be making a basic half-orc barbarian to start off with. Chaotic neutral, mercenary sort, not likely to do anything unless he sees what's in it for him. I'm not too good with names, but I thought of one "Gursek Thakal" for him. I've got ideas for another character I plan to send an application for once I've played for a bit.

Just wanted to give a shout out to everyone I've encountered so far in my brief soujourns into Sanctuary. I've gotta say I'm really impressed with the RP I've seen so far, so I think I'll be dropping by much more frequently if I can manage it. :)

So, if anyone could use a meatheaded, axe-swinging half-orc in their ranks, be sure to look me up. Anyone know if he can pick up any "orcish" armour from somewhere? Can't hurt to give him the look.

I never seen armor dedicated to half orcs 0.o, but then again, I only explored like 10% of the server, I swear with my crappy search I can't possibly find the other 90%.
