End Term Notice

There has been some changes these recent months. You have felt it, I have felt it, we all have endured and suffered from it. Our settlement is split, attempts have been made to unite it but to no avail. We stand here, flyers from new candidates swirling among our feet, looking with a sense of dread at our current situation. "Are these candidates the ones to bring us up from this state, or will they cause more destructions?" We ask ourselves, and rightfully so. After all, who can we trust will do more than sit and discuss a problem while it grows and feeds on our despair?

I started my Council term proclaiming that I would do these things:

What I stood for - Anti-Abberation laws - Two settlements - Trade

Anti-abberation laws I can come up with any explenation to why we do not have those currently, but the end will be that I did not make it.

Two settlements We have four now.

Trade It has only been recently I have looked into this, and the results I can only pass on to those who made it.

Looking at all this, some would say that I have failed as a councilor. Some would use this as a rallying shout to get votes, play upon my supposedly failure to get them noticed. But I have not failed, even when looking at this.

I started my campaign supporting the Seekers. Instead of disbanding that idea when they were cast out, I worked to bring them back. And so they are with us even now, raising our hopes for the Surface and working hard to find ways to deal with the metal shortage.

Do we really need laws against abberations, when noone would hesitate to bring weapons to bear should such attack us?

We may be split, we may be seperated from our neighbours but our part works better than ever. This metal crisis has forced the Watch, the Seekers, the Council and even you to work hard together to find solutions, to the benefit of us all. I have taken time to bring you all into this hunt, taken time to listen to all your advices and questions. This, and the work of my fellows on the Council, I hope brought us more within reach to you. And I hope that continues with the next Council.

I worked to bring a dangerous individual from the seat on the Council, one who could have caused no ends of destruction. And I even now, when writing this, am trying to find ways to end the current crisis.

When I look at the current candidates, I am disheartened with their efforts on paper when we have a more pressing issue to deal with. I want you to read through their words, find their intentions behind and ask yourselves if they are going to work for your betterment, or their own.

This is no proclaimation that I am running for a second term. I have done my part on the Council, and I hope all who voted for me are satisfied with their choice. I intend to still work for Sanctuary, but not with the restraints and danger of bringing keys and other important notes which the councilor position has. From the moments I heard about this metal shortage, I have worked hard to find solutions to it and I will not stop working before an answer has been found.

Closing this, I ask that if you have any questions regarding the Council or the matters discussed during my term, feel free to send a letter to the Last Stand. I will stay there until the crisis has been solved, after my term has come to an end.

The situation is not as hopeless as it may seem now. While I fear that an answer will not be found until the next Council has found their seats, this matter will be over soon after that. We have made more progress than my words may seem to lead to, and while we bring an end to this crisis please purchase your needed supplies from our various merchants, and donate any scrap metal to our chief engineer Sir Gimmins. He has built a furnace to give Sanctuary the necessary metal from what you give, so do us all a favor and use it.
