Other ways to help

You may or may not know, but aside from donations (which still help tremendously!), there are a few other ways you can help EfU out.

One is a little indirect, but can also help you out a great deal! If you are currently looking for a webhosting provider, I recommend you take a look at our provider, Dreamhost. They offer incredible services for incredible prices (not expensive incredible, cheap incredible), and excellent support on top. I'd urge anyone to look over their standard service page to get a glimpse of the outstanding disk space, bandwidth, subdomains, email accounts, you name it!, all for again, a great price. Domain registration is even free on their lowest entry level service. Their control panel is a custom-tailored one, and is pretty incredible too. Easy, accessable 'one-click installs' they call them, which give you immediate setup of free popular online software, like MediaWiki, phpBB, Joomla, Workpress, etc.

Where the "help you, help us" comes into play is signing up with our promotional code, UNDERDARK. What that does is give you 50 dollars off any of the packages longer than a month, and gives us 50 dollars on TOP of that to pay our bills. So, for example, the Yearly Level 1 package that normally costs $119.40 will be reduced to 69 dollars -and- give us 50 dollars. Even if you just want the space to share media, act as a small portal for your friends and family, or heck, set up another NWN community website that isn't at some silly URL like "dragonmountain.freewebforumhostingusa.com" and is chalked full of annoying ads (like I said before, domain registration is free, so you could easily take dragonmountain.com and make it your own).

So, finally, that promo code is UNDERDARK. If you have any questions about the service, feel free to get in touch with me. I also try to follow their blog and status page, so I can tell you about those if you wish. Also, 50 dollars off isn't the -only- promotional code I can offer. If you are looking for even more disk space, bandwidth, etc., get in touch.

I also originally said there were a "few more" ways to help out, so I also want to mention the possibility of donating some of your time to help with projects, if you have it. Currently, my main hunger is for someone who knows SQL that would like to try to take a shot at making some complex and efficent queries with an unfamiliar database schema, but if you are well versed in CSS or PHP, we might also be able to find a little work you could do. PM me, drop me a message on IRC, or maybe even an email to the escapefromunderdark@gmail.com account, and I'll try to get back to you.
