[DM's] A sealed letter to the Watch

[This letter is addressed to all Watch Officers and the Sheriff of the Watch]

Dear Officers,

I write this letter to state my interest in joining the Watch, my name is Sevastyan Maurmeril and I came from the Surface, but in my time here I have realized that the Surface will likely not be found and it is my belief that it will not be worth the cost and time to find it. Therefore I shall not idle and I shall dedicate myself to strengthen Sanctuary and to ensure its safety. I firmly believe that what Sanctuary requires most in this dark turbulent time filled with separation, disunity and chaos is a strong and tough sense of Law and Order.

It requires capable and skilled men and women who shall firmly uphold Law and Order and ensure the safety of Sanctuary and its citizens. People who have a strong sense of Discipline, Courage, Unity and Honor.

I feel that I am such a person and for the past few days I have been trying to prove myself to the members of the Watch, unfortunately most of these Privates are completely biased and against me; they offer me a chance to prove myself in the coming Boot Camp program, yet they subtly and openly act and speak against me due to the sole reason of my faith. I completely feel that they will not recommend me regardless of my performance and skills.

Such a biased and discriminant nature in recruiting is absurd and holds only bad effects on the reputation of the Watch and worse; horrible effects on the safety, unity and security of Sanctuary and its people.

I simply want to prove myself to Watchmen who shall judge in a fair and indiscriminate nature both in word and deed.

- Sevastyan Maurmeril.

Your own words and deeds caused the loss of your recommendations, and your failure to be recruited into the Watch. You have two choices now. You may continue to send letters of protest about the difficulty your own actions have caused you, or perhaps you may ask your priestess Ayumi to do this for you. Choose this choice, and you will only reinforce the perception and judgment that you are not suited for service in the Watch. The second choice is that you may meet with me to discuss what is necessary to reform your actions and make yourself suitable to defend this city. If you are sincere and open in your desires, then I will tolerate your presence to offer you counsel.

You will have to prove yourself and show yourself capable of upholding justice, as any other candidate. If you are unwilling or unable to do what is necessary to commit yourself to the cause of justice, then you will forever be incapable for service in the Watch.

Any further correspondence accusing the Watch's traditional recruitment process of being biased or unfair will not be responded to.
