How To Slay: Goblins

[This well-made book's beauty is tarnished by blood stains and rips. A tiny sign is on the front, but you are baffled by the strange insignias that border the book]

How To Slay Goblins, of the How To Slay Series. Vol. I By Dwisromn X'Dart

Hello, adventurer! If you are reading this book, you obviously are interested in slaying the foul little green creatures known as Goblins!

Well, I, Dwisromn X'dart, Ranger of the Court, will help you with it with a few guidelines that will save your life and take a goblin's! Shall we continue? I think yes!

-Goblins are tricky. They can set devious traps, and without a skilled Trapspringer, you and your companions will surely die. Goblins are only familiar with the simplest of traps, such as knee-cutting wires, unphasing spike traps, and their 'deadliest' of all, a Sonic trap slight of bruising an infant. Sure, you can just run through all of these traps, but fighting is different. You don't want to arrive no-legged, dazed, and skewed when you come to the Chieftain, do you? No. No you don't.

-Goblins are incredibly stupid. They will fall for any trap you set for them, even if you set it up right in front of them. I warn you though, the Rougish Goblins can see past your infantile tricks, so be careful!

-Goblins can't forge. They will pillage tiny villages or raid blacksmith shops, just to get their hands on a dagger. If they kill you, you will be contributing to their weapons and armour supply! Don't die! And if you do, hope that your companions will steal all of your items!

-Goblins CAN be strong. Despite popular belief, Goblins CAN be strong if they fight alot, just like you and me. Again, dying will contribute to their power, but instead of someone resolving this by stealing your items, it's advised they 'raise' you and you and your companions 'take care' of the goblin that sent you to your demise.

-Goblins like blunt weapons. Because of their love of that 'god', Maglubiyet, they love to use Warhammers, Morningstars, Maces, Flails, and of course, clubs. When they wield bladed weapons or ranged, these Goblins either a)looted them from adventurers or b) are a special group of swordsmen/marksmen. Be sure to bring heavy armour to counteract the blows of a mace or club.

-Goblins CAN use magic. Goblins can use magic, but prefer mostly to use druidic or 'shamanistic' magic. Not entirely 'deadly', so to speak, this magic can halt you in your tracks, heal their comrades, or even sear you. Kill Shamans first if you can-they're often guarded by Goblin Elite.

-A Dwarven Ranger (like myself) can be useful with training against goblins. Bring me, Dwisromn, on your Goblin hunting trips some time!

Now that you know what to do, good luck on your journies and gob-hunting expeditions.

With all love, Dwisromn X'Dart
