I am going to try and lead a prospecting expedition into the surrounding area in the attempt to locate commercially viable ore bodies that can be exploited for the use of the city.

As a dwarf, I have a good deal of experience in searching and identifying mineral types and rock formations that may have lode bearing ore.

Also, since this city was built by gnomes, another mining race, they would have located this city with the very idea of having ore bodies nearby so they could use the ore to fund their economy as evidenced by the now depleted iron mine the duergar once worked.

I am gathering a group together as well as consulting with professional travellers who may have maps of rock formations and/or knowledge of old mines. Once these places have been scouted out, test digs will be conducted on the area to determine what sort of rocks are there and if there are any ore bodies.

If we find anything that is worth while exploiting, then Sanctuary will have to fund the construction of a mine as well as arrange transport of the ore back to the city.

I think that we have a reasonable chance of success as the deep gnomes are a wise people, well versed in the ways of rock and stone and they will have surveyed the area thoroughly before building this city. If there are any records, maps or writings that may give us some clue as to potential sites, please let me know.

I plan to set out and conduct 2 surveys in 7 days time.
