Familiars and Animal Companions

Hello,

I have an Elven Wizard (Kelethad) who has a curious Archon Lantern-like Familiar named Varith. I was hoping to keep out Varith at all times for roleplaying purposes.

Varith is supposed to wonder around, guard Kelethad, and simply comment on new and strange things (to him).

I'm afraid to keep Varith out in normal Sanctuary, due to the Spellguard. I don't truly want to join the Spellguard, but if I must, I'd have to get some more levels into Kelethad (who's only level 3 right now).

Please tell me if I can have Varith out in Upper Sanctuary (outside).

Cheers, The Ace Of Blades

The guards would say so long as he doesn't cause any trouble and so long as he stays right next to you. PCs though, may not tolerate them at all.

That said, it is not illegal to kill a familiar, as they may be seen as / are monsters or extraplanar creatures. So don't get all bent out of shape if it happens. If it does, it should be worked out IC and IG.

A Banite would eradicate.

Thank you! I'll watch out for Banites.

Also, orbs of light don't speak.

With all the problems Sanctuary has and dangerous environment, don't expect to be received well if you walk around with what looks like a floating ball of mysterious energy. Citizens commonly equate those as threats, regardless of intent, but that's not to say there's something stopping you from doing it besides IC courses of action.
