A letter simply marked "Thorain' is left at the Pissing Crone with Cyrus. In neat flowing script the letter reads:

A friendly source recently made me aware that you have been in possession of a blue signet ring set with a topaz. All I know is that having the ring on your person for any length of time will inadvertantly attract the attention of a cabal of seven 'monsters from the deep', or 'the seven jewels of twilight', depending on the wearer's demeanour. What this means or bodes for you I cannot say. I am simply passing on information. The source also mentioned the fulfilment of a prophecy in relation to the ring. I was informed that the one who gave you the ring, also knew of its unseen burden.

All I can suggest it that you return the ring to its source; either to the merchant who sold it to you, or to its maker.

That is going to be quite tricky, since I believe the former owner is dead (mostly because I quite clearly remember taking the ring off of a corpse). As for posessing it any length of time, I have done so already so I must assume that whatever these critters are, they already are aware of me - although for what purpose, I am unsure. As for who it's maker is, I believe that could quite possibly be the Order - which is why I wish to meet you in person. If the ring is dangerous, then it should be destroyed and it would be most irresponsible of me to merely drop it in a garbage pile or one of the trash cans for any beggar to go pick it up.

On this note aside, what can you tell me about the "Prophecies of Zaphyron"? Apparently that is the prophecy retelling about the "Seven Jewels of Twilight", yet it is very vague. I also wish to know what you know about Monty Ubel - and why he would be so persistant in sending me warnings about this.

At any rate, it appears we have much to discuss. Set a time and date, or find me at the Last Stand.

No word. High Commander Armand Waters thinks it is nothing. No sign of the informant either. Perhaps it was all a smoking illusion? I will keep you posted with details if they arrive again.
