Whats the difference between sparring mode and subdual mode, I am still wondering  PLease explain.

If it is in the journal, thewn I haven't seen it after reading it three times.

Sparring mode, like a sparring match in boxing, pretty much represents a level of non-hostile combat...you are still trying to best your opponent, but in a "friendly" or "practice" sort of way. It's why it says *winded* after you get beaten.

Subdual mode is for agressive action against your opponent with the intention of knocking him out and causing debilitating damage.

Additionally, being *winded* doesn't apply movement and AC penalties like *subdued* and *blacked out* do.

And your bag doesn't drop.

Basically, if you're doing a tournament/spar/duel or other similarly non-hostile combat, use sparring.

Subdual is used for everything else, pretty much.

But, that's not to say that you can't just use Subdual!
