Yeah, I had this idea before I went on a trip some week ago, but didn't go about posting it. But when I came back, I saw a similar topic.
https://efupw.com/efu1-forum/topic/24/24297/secret-forum-account/index.html
And so I thought I should drop my idea.
Wouldn't it work to have like, an option you could choose when you're making a post to be anonymous? Just a button you could click or square to fill in? It doesn't seem all that difficult in my eyes and it would mean a lot less "secret accounts" being created.
Well.. That's about it, feel free to discuss and improve.

Why not just make the post as a Guest?

Some topics require the poster to log in
Not a big fan of it myself, I don't see many folk using it unless they're trying to hide somthing.

I'm assuming it was suggested to prevent metagaming. For example, if your Anti-Spellguard Terrorist got a Letter on the forums from an account who you know to be a player of a Spellguard PC, but not using the Spellguard PC's name, asking them to meet somewhere, you'd be more inclined as a player to be more cautious about the meeting than you would if somebody you genuinely thought was a friend sent the same message.
I think its a good idea.

It takes all of 2 minutes to register a new account. There's not even any confirmation process (and I know! >.>). Halfbrood's right, but it's hardly necessary.

It takes an email address, though, which not everyone has in great abundance. However, I have never had a problem posting something as a guest. Could just be me.

Depending on the situation DM's may also post for you if you want to remain incognito or stop potential meta-gaming

It doesn't have to be a valid one. <_>

x@y.z is a great email (or, if we require properly formatted email addresses: x@y.net).
I don't see a shared secret account as terribly necessary if you can quickly create your own account for secret postings and/or ask a DM to post for you. The current methods available to you also enable DMs to easily know who made the post.
