Wait isn't that your character?

What's the Dm's opinion of our own character's sharing knowledge with each other over a bottle of Ale when we're not on?

((Other words, Noirin Telling Droim that <FOIG> controls the undead in the Hoaran temple. Or that Noirin slew a dragon?))

Passing info on from one character to another like this can lead to some very sticky situations rules wise. Really we follow the rule of "if it happens in game, then it has occured", and following that rule if Droim doesn't do it in game, then it doesn't happen.

This also applies to many of the posts in far flung places like Fort Mur. If your character has never gone there / hasn't gone there in some time, a new posting would not be seen by your character unless you physically go there.

It's a good rule of thumb if you are playing more than one character, not to have the stuff they are doing overlap. It just dilutes the involvement two (or more) characters are having, and it screams for metagaming IC knowledge.

It's metagaming of the highest order.

Don't do this.
