The Grand Tournament
THE SANCTUARY ARENA STAFF PRESENT A TOURNAMENT OF ARMS, FAITH AND MAGIC
In an effort to recapture the strength of mind and limb that so marked our predecessors, to rediscover our valour and pride, the men of the Sanctuary Arena are hosting a great tournament. Respecting the wisdom of Tempus when He affirms that valour blazes within all, regardless of their station in life, this massive tournament shall include a host of categories and brackets.
Exchange of Steel Men bleat like pigs at times about their skills on the battlefield. A chance for promising warriors to make their name heard and for established men of the blade to defend their position. - A martial contest between one warrior and another. - Each combatant is allowed to use two instances of magical aid, be they potions, spells, wand charges or charges innate to equipment. The exceptions are healing or extremely powerful magic. [OOC: Magic use confined to fourth level spells] -Confined to Arena ring.
Arcane Showdown It is said that wizardly folk do not lack for arrogance. A chance for any arcanist to make good on his claims, to showcase his understanding of the Weave and earn the respect of Sancturians everywhere as the eminent duelist. - An arcane contest between one arcanist and another. - All damage dealt must be magical, or connected with summoned beings. - Use of non-innate magic, such as healing, potions or wand charges, is illegal. -Confined to Arena ring.
The Struggle of Faiths The tumultuous war between the Gods that rages above us can find a peaceful outlet here as mortal priests draw battle against one another in a display of clerical might sure to strike wonder into the unfaithful. - A divine contest between one priest and another. - Use of all magic that isn't directly called down from the patron deity of the priest, including potions, wands and equipment, is illegal. -Confined to Arena ring.

The Great Clash The closest thing to real warfare we are like to come, a chance for any group of comrades of any skill or background to display their worth on the field of battle. - A massive battle between one independent team of four against another. - No rules on magic use. - No confined area of battle, save the Arena proper and demarcated bystander sections.
The Tempest Friction between the powerful groups of the city shall find medium where no real damage can be done, and yet in one which the might and honour of the group can be made real. Shall the Spellguard separatists back their claims as the eminent defense organisation of the city? Will the New Dunwarren order show what they can muster when threatened? Will the thuggish brutes of the Lower slums show their muscle? Will the honour warriors of the Cave Worm Clan and the druids of the Mycopolis show the power of nature? Will the soldiers of the Watch and those still loyal to Sanctuary prove their worth in the field? - A massive battle between two teams fielded by interest groups. - No rules on magic use. - No confined area of battle, save the Arena proper and demarcated bystander sections.
--- Prizes and Payment ---
- Individuals entering the 1v1 events will pay 200 gold each. The loser will receive no payment and will be knocked out of the tournament.
- As the tournament progresses, a large pool of gold will form. The combatant mighty enough to prevail in his own bracket will win this large pool of funding, plus a magical trinket of nature yet to be decided.
- Groups fielding teams will pay 1000 coins entry in total, and will likewise win the total pooled amount, in addition to four magical items yet to be decided.

- All battles will be non-lethal. If somebody manages to kill their opponent during the right, it will be considered murder. Do not enter if you are inept enough to not know how to land a non-lethal blow.
- A space will be provided below to leave your name, category and bracket below. Please only leave the required details, and keep it neat.
- The event shall need the aid of skilled healers, as well as priests or wizards able to cast dispelling blessings and spells. Leave word at the Sanctuary Arena entitled 'Staff' if you are willing and able to provide these services.
