Recently I have been playing a character who is native to Lower, and when my ig comrades and myself finally ran out of cash from being the drunkards we are, found that there seems to be very few ways to make any coin in Lower. I imagine this is done because Lower is in fact poor..or perhaps I just don't know of the quests in that particular area. What I did feel though, is that I found it near impossible for me to allow my character to go to Upper to earn coin by doing the typical low level quests- it just didn't feel right. So I guess I'm basically wondering if there actually are alot of starter quests or jobs in lower (since it is a starting point at character creation). And if not, suggesting that some be implemented. I do realize that if this was done, other players would undoubtedly hog up both the quests in Upper Lower, and wherever else simply to advance in levels..but it just felt very difficult for me to find any suitable jobs, other than one or two. I do however, see an abundance of low level jobs in upper, particuarly fed-ex style quests and such, which i see no reason for Lower to lack. I think it could be fun running a package of sorts from gang member to gang member, or something of that sort.

Yup, gotta agree here. If you're starting out, the only quest I know of that you can take on your own is the Mikkelson letter quest. Everything else, you need a few partners. A drug-running quest or two would be entertaining for a while.
Well it doesn't need to be drugs per say, since they are frowned on in efu due to the varying age of the playerbase (I guess?). But moving stolen merchandise or something would be cool too..especially if there was a way to put dangers in your path, possibly rival gang members or something.
I can think of a few really popular low level quests, and two popular mid-high level quests in lower. I think that you feel that you are more poor because Lower quests tend to pay less, and also because most other characters are able to get a much greater diversity of quests (and rewards!)
Having played a character who was ONLY able to go in the Lowers and outside, I agree that yes, it is hard, but it isn't THAT hard. And you have to be more patient with your leveling and such. That's why I say...

Well, I know of two quests off my head that you can do L1-4 and with one person. Then there are let me think 2 run around types, 4 bigger quests ranging from L3-5 and then on top of that the canal ward has atleast three quests, plus goblins town... I think lower is set alright.
You're right. I did a good bit more exploring and it does seem that Lower does in fact have a fine set of quests, though they aren't neccessarily as in your face as Upper's. I'll stand by my statement though, that a Lower Fed-ex given by gang members that involves some sort of transportation of illegal product or documentation would still be fun.. But yes I retract my other statements as I explored alot more today and found alot more to do.
There's a quest kind of like that already in Lower; soon it will have four ways (instead of three) to complete without any killing at all!

1 A gang is paying you to eliminate a tough rival gang.
2 Someone is paying you to wipe out a tough group of slavers that have been in Lower. In this building are a variety of traps and stuff etc.
3 A group of Drow are hiding in santuary and the seekers are paying adventurers to remove the Drow and free the slaves.
4 The society is paying to wipe out a coven of Ilithid thralls hiding in Lower.

Dr DragonYeah, but the problem is that most of the quest-ideas you put forward are very similar to quests currently available. I like diversity, and not quests that are in place in the server already, but need to be put in in a different form so the 'Lowers' have more quests to do themselves. I tell you, there are *plenty* of level 2-5 quests in Lower Sanctuary, probably more than Upper Sanctuary has. Even high level quests in Lower. Alternatively, go out into the Underdark for quests. Trolls, Troglodytes, Urdlenites, Gnolls and Seer are among the numerous quests you can find there. I firmly believe that the balance isn't even equal, but tipped to the point that Lower has more, and better quests than Upper. That said, if you only want to stay *inside* of Lower, don't expect to get high levels - Like no 'adventurer' would, by sticking with his own little confined area for his entire life. Travel and getting out are key to experience. No pun intended.I have 1 million ideas of how to make one
