I have recently discovered some interesting information and research on the substance in question, and would be pleased to pass this along to you in return for a nominal fee for the research that I had to undertake to discover it. I believe 200 gold should cover my expenses to date.

As of this moment, I have not yet determined the source of the material, but I have some leads that I intend to follow that show promise in assisting in the location of the source of the substance, and perhaps even in shunting it away from the canal to a safer location, such as a flow of lava, where it would be safely destroyed by the heat and flame.

This note is being left with you to inform you that I am still investigating the phenomenom of the slime in the canal ward, and am making progress.

I am near to certain now that the slime in the canal is the same as the slime in the sewers beneath the ruins, albeit more processed in some fashion, as though it was churned and mixed a great deal by it's passage from the sewers to the canal.

I am organizing expeditions now into the sewers and waterworks system to attempt to determine the source.
