Strength and Honor - A Campaign Platform

Men and women of Sanctuary.

In my time here, I have discovered something about the Underdark. There are two sorts of individuals who inhabit it. Those who understand how the Underdark functions, and those who do not.

The Underdark, my fellows, is based upon strength. The strongest rule, the weak are ruled. The weak have no recourse; they must hide or surrender to the mercy of those stronger.

Right now, we hide as weaklings do. This does not need to be. Slave raids must be stepped up; living space aplenty can be wrested from the nearby ruins. The Spellguard should leave law-enforcement to a greatly-expanded Watch and focus on the command and control of svirfneblin automatons.

The Watch cannot be allowed to languish. As Sanctuary's standing army, they are the only barriers between ourselves and the foul beasts that lurk outside our gates. Once we have greater quantities of automata and Watchmen, we can begin to police threats pre-emptively.

Yes, I speak of war.

We will NEVER be safe here as long as threats to our safety remain unchecked. The drow city of Traensyr is a fine example. Until we are strong enough to defeat them in open battle, raze their towns and salt their fields, we should weaken them through espionage, political machinations, and guerilla warfare.

You may have noticed that they do these very things to us. Drow and their minions spy here, and drow raids are frequent. They meddle with our politics as well. Those who do not stand for war with the drow, can you trust them? Drow gold flows freely from their coffers to many in this city.

Vote Christair Salter, my friends, and you vote for an end to the drow.

Addendum:

It has been brought to my attention that my position on the Tigereyes has not been stated.

The Tigereyes are the finest fighting force available to Sanctuary. We waste them in endless patrols of Lower Sanctuary. The Watch should be doing their job there. If the citizens of Lower Sanctuary will not accept them, then they endanger us all.

As well, should I be elected, I will pursue a course of action which will result in "Andy" and all other members of the Church of Cyric beingrounded up and executed. There is no reason to allow their ilk in our city. They are nothing but villainous troublemakers.

*Posted nearby these posters, carefully though so not to cover any of them.*

Christair Salter might understand that we can not hide forever, but he does not know his history.

The watch tried to tame Lower Sanctuary years ago, and the result was the catastrophic Ubel Rebellion. He thinks they're wasted keeping the peace, but if the Tigereyes are removed from Lower Sanctuary and the Watch sent in--there will be no peace.

Civil War.

Did we escape slavery only to be torn apart by one man who thinks he can ignore our shared past?

CHRISTAIR SALTER "If the citizens of Lower Sanctuary will not accept them, then they endanger us all. "

CHRISTAIR SALTER Wants War With Lower

Addendum 2:

It has been many years since the Ubel rebellion. This is not a fresh wound; it is an old one. The point of bringing the Watch to Lower Sanctuary is not to change the way of life in Lower Sanctuary.

The citizens of Lower Sanctuary have made it clear that they will not tolerate the level of security enjoyed by Upper Sanctuary. Therefore, a new Watch force in Lower Sanctuary would have severely curtailed powers, similar to those of the Tigereyes now. Additionally, a large part of the force would be made up of brave recruits from Lower Sanctuary. This plan means more jobs and a larger military force, NOT civil war.

Will you listen to a man with clear goals for a strong Sanctuary, or anonymous cowards that strike from the darkness?
