RE: Tribe of the Blade Defense Contract
Councilors,
The Watch has been negotiating a defense contract with the Tribe of the Blade. The bulk of the details have been worked out and we now leave it to the Council to finalize and approve the contract. What follows are the terms negotiated:
750 gold would be the base rate for six Tribe warriors to aid in the defense of Sanctuary. An additional sum of 350 gold would be paid dependant on the timeliness and success of the Tribe's warriors. Further increments of six would follow the same guidelines, should the Watch require additional support in times of crisis.
A Watch runner or government representative would be sent to the Tribe to request the aid. The additional payment (anywhere from 0 to 350) would be decided upon by the Watch, based on such expectations as; No further major damage occuring between the time the runner informs the Tribe and the Tribe's warriors arriving, the warriors responding well to orders, and that they act effectively in conjunction with the Watch.
The payment would be for one 'term'. A term being the immediate battle or duty they're called for. A prolonged conflict would not be considered a single term, but several. For the duration of the term the Tribe warriors assigned to aiding the Watch would be considered deputies, and have all the privileges and responsibilites implied therein. The Tribe would be obligated to send the aid the Watch requests.
The Watch hopes the council can work out the final contract with minimal fuss, and pass it quickly. Any questions regarding the contract can be directed to myself, or to the Tribe of the Blade.
