Death-Touched as a valid subrace?

Would this be a valid possibility for a subrace?

It seems appropriate to the server, given the darker nature of the game - though situations on the whole where undead... *shudder* mate... should be rare. If for nothing else, our sanity. But anyway, here's the information I got on them:

Deathtouched Outsider (native) The deathtouched can trace their ancestry to a half-undead being (like a half-vampire), an ancestor who was undead but later returned to life, or the victim of a bungled raise dead, or resurrection. Although rarely recognized as such, the taint of unlife lingers through generations, and a deathtouched can manifest abilities derived from its unliving ancestor.

Deathtouched tend to be pale and thin, with black, dirty brown, or gray hair. Many have some small physical feature that belies their heritage, such as sharpened canines, a ghoul-like tongue, a faint smell of the grave, eyes that glow red, yellow, or green in low light, or tight, corpselike skin. They wear clothing and hairstyles of the region they live in, but favor fashions that conceal their nature and discourage notice. Deathtouched can be reclusive and are prone to fits of depression that last days or even weeks at a time. They become fond of anyone who can understand or tolerate their affliction.

Most races do not trust creature that are undead, in whole or in part, and a deathtouched whose ancestry has been exposed is likely to be driven off or killed. Some elves consider them abominations that must be hunted to extinction. This causes most deathtouched to be fearful of others. Neither can deathtouched expect acceptance from their undead kin, who see them as no different than other mortals. Certain cults of death gods, specifically Skeh’zel the Death-Bringer and Egrazzek the Undead-Monarch, treat deathtouched with respect. Some necromancers might welcome them in exchange for skin, hair, and blood samples that are invaluable to their experiments. Deathtouched do not get along well with lifetouched.

Deathtouched are too few in number to have a society or culture of their own and instead try to blend into existing ones.

Ability Adjustments: +4 Cha, +2 Wis, -2 Con. Favored Class (Sorcerer): A multiclass deathtouched's sorcerer class does not count when determining whether he suffers an XP penalty for multiclassing.

Special Abilities:

- Darkvision: Deathtouched can see in the dark. - Skill Affinity (Move Silently): +2 racial bonus to Move Silently checks. - Skill Affinity (Intimidate): +2 racial bonus to Intimidate checks. - Resist Cold: Innate cold resistance of 5. - Resist Electricity: Innate electricity resistance of 5. - Spell Ability - Chill Touch: Can cast once per day as spell of characters level. - Human: Deathtouched are considered Human for the purpose of spells.

As for the scripting of the subrace, the Chill Touch might be a bit difficult to implement (I have no idea, personally) and +4 CHA seems almost broken - but it seems to me to be on par with the aasimar in terms of game balance. Maybe a +2 CHA might be better.

I know that many DMs would like to have a solid idea of a particular example/concept before they implement a new sub-race, so if you'd like to discuss my idea for a possible deathtouched character, I'd be happy to.

Dude you can apply for any subrace as long as it exists in the Fr world and makes sense why youd be in the underdark etc. I apped for a hobgoblin they thought it was so nice they scripted in the race.

I prefer Star Elves for my leet +CHA sorcerer subrace, but that's just me.

I don't quite understand WHY this race has a bonus to Charisma. It says in the description they are reclusive - the don't get along well with others - they likely smell of the grave or look a little freaky...

none of which = bonus to CHA if you ask me.

But that is more about the race and not about your suggestion - which as the other doctor says, the DMs will grant any unusual subrace if an appropriate application is successful
