[To the council]

Greetings fair and honorable members of the Council,

It pains me to have witness what I did, where actual literature was put on the pyre by officer Evelyn Lorent of the City Watch.

Knowledge, no matter how troubling it might seem, should never be burned.

The necromantic diaries which were burned and 'supposedly' inspected by the private herself could have given us very detailed information on the creation of Undead creatures, -BUT- with that, the information required on the deconstruction or destruction of said Undead creatures.

No laws in Sanctuary prevents the use of necromantic knowledge as mean to combat Undead abomination or the preponderance of that knowledge itself.

The only infringement to the law would be, as stated by Sheriff Azzam:

  • Animating a Citizen of Sanctuary (As an Undead creature) - Capital Crime
Where keeping necromantic knowledge 'may' lead to that, but the pathway is not clear at all.

What I suggest is to stop destroying necromantic artefacts and let them be handled, as well as the dangerous yet useful knowledge they hold by the Spellguard Magocracy, which could eventually allow individuals under watch to analyze that information.

If the above proposition is not satisfactory for the fact that the Spellguard Magocracy is no longer a part of the town of Sanctuary, albeit that they still wish to defend it - then please, store these works in the vault of the local library where they could be 'viewed' again by individuals under watch of the local guards.

Only you can stop the destruction of knowledge, and the conservative minds that allow such a destruction!

Thank you for your time.
