*affixed to the Society's mantle with a dagger*

The note, written on scrap parchment, is in a jerky, but legible hand, affixed to the Society's mantle with a dagger + something clear + sticky underneath:

Be it known:

When your little chanter invited me along, he knew what I am. If not all of you did, clean the blex out of your eyes.

Godboys, above + below, have caused more chaos + senseless loss of life than any of "my kind." The reason for this is simple:

* The courtesans of Calimshan have better discipline than what I saw of Society members last night.

For a crowd of bashers who claimed to be unfamiliar with the surroundings, you did a good job of stepping over me before I got a chance to make reports of what was ahead.

But of course, I have more to do than stop any godboy from following the Spellguard into the shadows. If that's your choice, no Power will be able to help you.

Thank your Powers that all I did was ditch you at Fort Mur.

- M.

EDIT: corrected word choice to match most logical spot.

[the note is quickly consumed by the flames of the Society fireplace]

[a letter addressed to Mbizi is sent to the Seeker Hall along with her dagger, which is neatly folded within a piece of cloth]

    Mbizi,

As I have some respect for the organization you belong to I shall take the time to explain this, despite your blatant disrespect for us and the unreliability you showed last night.

Your accusations of the Society of the Ordered Mind are baseless and misguided, for last night’s expedition was arranged by the Ilmateri and not by us. I, Ambrose Crownguard, accompanied them as a paladin and ally to their faith. No other Society members were present after we set out from Sanctuary.

You led us towards the gates of Traensyr where a direct assault would have been folly. When it was the groups decision to head towards Fort Mur to the north you vanished without a word, leaving us vulerable without a scout which, as it turned out, would have been required shortly thereafter.

Despite your failure to perform your duties, which has been duly noted, we were able to put an end to a Traensyr slave auction. I shall pray that the grace of Torm will be with the next people you choose to abandon as well, that they may live to tell the tale.

Kindly see to it that your next missive is delivered in a more civilized manner.

    Sincerely, Ambrose Crownguard
