Letter to the Watch

Men and women of Law,

I wish to report an attempted murder upon myself witnessed by several citizens. While working a contract in the Temple of Hoar, the barbarian named Andar of the Blade Tribe did challenge me to a duel and when I refused, attacked me with intent to kill.

Using non-violent means in a severely weakened state, I tried to retreat from the madman but he then used ranged attacks, then charged me after I had clearly shown that I would not duel him.

I ask that you speak to the witnesses present, verify the truth of my words, and to prosecute this savage for attempted murder.

The witnesses were Justiciar Lorent of Tyr, a hin priest of Avoreen named Drin, an elf who speaks incessantly of hunting whose name I do not recall, and a foul mouthed woman named Kri'iya. There were perhaps one or two others beside the savage and myself.

Of course I will make myself available for questioning or to file this report if necessary.

To the Watch,

I have recalled the name of the elf I mentioned as a witness to my assault at the hands of the savage Andar of the Blade Tribe. It is Vanda, though I do not know his last name.

It has been explained to me that crimes committed in the area known as Lower are not under your jurisdiction, is that correct? If indeed this is the case, then citizens are able to freely assault each other outside the city limits? A most barbaric practice if true.

When a goodly man of Torm can be assaulted by a savage intent on murder without consequence, can a settlement truly call itself civilized?

I am looking forward to your prompt response in this matter.

Tormtar Geoffrey Wellington, Vigilant of the Loyal Fury
