Place to rest at Sslal'teesh

I can find no place whatsoever to rest in the Sslal'teesh docks and/or lower caves. Thus, you can't prepare for the trip back.

The situation is made worse in that, in the first map on the way back to Sanctuary, there is a spawn point very close to the transition. Something is almost always spawned there. Since you can't rest at Sslal'teesh, you need to go to this wilderness area to rest. However, you can't rest because an "enemy is near". You either have to successfully sneak past (and likely walk a ways, since there are spawn points all over the map) or kill the encounter. Killing the encounter is unlikely, as the spawn is usually something like 6 volts, or Umber Hulk Behemoth, or some such, where you desperately need to have your protection spells ready to fight them.

It doesn't make any sense that you can't rest somewhere on the Ssal'teesh docks, given that there's a whole community there, as well as traders, and it's the safest place in the region. It seems silly that you need to go to a dangerous area in order to rest.

If there's someplace to rest at Sslal'teesh, it is either well hidden or I'm completely blind -- I checked every door, talked to every NPC, walked around every inch of the map with 14 search looking for hidden areas, and explored 3 cavernous areas below the docks, and there was nowhere I could rent a bed nor light a fire.

You're not looking hard enough.

Oro is correct, plenty of places to rest.

*sighs* I must be severely mental in missing it, as I've spent over an hour there searching every portion of the map, looking for transition points and secret doors, with a character that has a 14 search skill. I also tried every door and talked to every NPC.

I'll go there and look again, but don't think I'll bother with the return trip if I can't find it.

I guess one option is, when I'm there, to try to flag down a DM to possess an NPC so I can ask where I can rest. But I always hate to bother DM's for something so trivial.

Sorry, guys. Spent a THIRD time out there scouring the area, over an hour searching, and there is NO PLACE to rest on the Sslal'teesh docks. When is the last time you tried???

"You cannot set a campfire here" always comes up, no matter where you walk around. Without a campfire, you can't rest.

I've set my spawn point there, I've eaten rasper weed, I've talked to every NPC, and all I get is "You can't rest in quest areas".

I've explored all of the caverns that are linked to the Sslal'teesh map, and none of them allow you to make a campfire, save one -- however, to get to that map, you have to sneak past spawns such as Lizardfolk Chieftains and Assassins.

The adjacent area, "Perilous Shores" (the way back to Sanctuary,) allows you to make a campfire -- however, there are usually spawns immediately near the transition, that cause "You cannot rest with enemies near." These spawns are usually of the more difficult variety, that you would need your spells to fight. Except, since you can't rest, you can't prepare your spells. And it hardly makes sense, anyway, that you left the safety of Sslal'teesh to look for a place to rest.

This area is inconsistent with the rest of the server. I can only think of a few other outdoor areas that don't allow campfires, and they usually have a logical reason. Additionally, supposedly the Shadow Tribe "welcomes you", and you can ask to "stay here for awhile" (and are told, sure, as long as you bring your own camping gear), but you can't set up a fire and rest there.

There really should be a SAFE and EASY-TO-FIND place to rest somewhere in Sslal'teesh.

My druid could rest in the caves, most likely the campfire thing is throwing you off.

Anybody other than rangers and druids require a campfire.

And, again, the kobolds tell you "sure, you can stay here, but bring your own gear." So you would expect to be able to make camp, except it doesn't allow you to.
