The following speech was held at the town hall. Wyric spoke from the podium with Councilor Frum Highill, Mr Riddle and Marten Brier by his side. A large crowd was following.

Citizens.

I am not the most senior of the councillors, but I am the mayor until the election is held, so there is someone to oversee the proceedings.

To the spellguard I can only offer my disappointment, you offer no alternative solution to this crisis. Unless you of course wish to point another First Citizen, and take over the city? We need to work together if this city is to survive.

Wizards are known to be men of wisdom, please show such today. Democracy will not fail due one person, or one organization.

Town watch. I thank you for your support for the city. I have heard some of you have not been paid, myself and Councillor Highill are to see this fixed immediately.

Good people, citizens! Let us have the elections in civil and organized fashion, so our city may move forward. You are men and women who have seen a lot of blood and conflict so you know what you are protecting the city from, and a peaceful election is what we all want.

Citizens, I ask you to do have faith in your city. It has given you shelter against hostility from outside its walls, let us not turn on eachother as it will only make us weaker. The council will be whole again soon. We shall stand as one city, one voice.
