Letter sent to Sylus Gray

[Letter left in the Pissing Crone]

Candidate Sylus Gray,

How goes your merchant plans? With the current delays on the election, I thought it time to begin doing something. Since I remembered your speech about economy business, I believed you are the one to write to. If we are to raise our economy, we need to find business partners. Already, I am looking into the Shadow Tribe (should we not be in trade with them) and the Kuo-Toas if I get a runner. Do you know of any other settlements near us who would be interested in trading? Fort Mur is an alternative.

If we have enough merchants, we could begin to look into this business already, if we get a clearance from the Council. Since it seems there are only two Councilors actively running, it would be fit just having their clearence to look into these things with the individual merchants before getting the whole of Sanctuary into it. Trading has never been much of my area, so I am just hurling ideas.

And I have never given up hope of the surface.

Krown,

My plans proceed well. I could talk your ear off in person, but I'll make this relatively brief. I disagree with some of your basic premises. We need to exercise patience regarding finding other trading partners- I agree on it's necessity, but I don't believe that we can do anything without being on the Council. Sanctuary needs a resurgence of it's own business, and in order to enact any meaningful changes in that area we need to have some policy reform from the Council.

I continue to work on opening my own merchant's consortium in Lower Sanctuary, and those plans are going very well. I've already spoken extensively with the Shadow Tribe and the Blade Tribe, and am working with them to achieve what you suggest.

Fair dark, Sylus Gray
